Looking into going to Las Vegas for a few days in February/March. Have always fancied going so am looking around to see what's available. I love searching the internet for holiday bargains, even if we end up not going!! Off to look at hotels now :flower:

:sunny: Hi Kathryn

We went 2 years ago it's a mad place, If you are looking at hotels look at the ones towards the bottom of the strip (airport end). That's where we spent most of our evenings. I'd look at NY NY, MGM grand, Alladin, Exceliber or Luxor.

If you do book anything (i love just looking too !!) I could give you some tips and info. I'm a compusive planner :goodvibes

I love Vegas too. We stayed at the New York, New York and the Venetian (we even given a free upgrade to a high roller suite!) Next time we go I want to stay at the Bellagio as I just love the hotel and love the location as it is mid strip.

Hi,
Another vote for the Bellagio. We stayed there in June this year and although it cost nearly £100 a night it was worth every penny. We had a room on the 26th floor overlooking the pools and the view was great. We booked it through Expedia and had a wonderful trip.

Just a tip for when you're looking at the prices of hotels - if you're not fixed to travelling a particular week, check out prices over a few different weeks. If there are big conferences or events during a particular week, the room prices shoot up, and it can be hard to even find a room.

We went for my birthday this year, and booked flights for the 6th Feb. Little did I know, that was day of the Superbowl, and millions (it seems!) flock to Vegas to bet on the game. It was really hard to get a room, although we ended up at the Mirage, which was lovely. It was relatively expensive though - we paid something like £500 for 4 nights.

The other thing to do is sign up for email offers from the hotels on their websites - hotels like the Venetian and the Bellagio offer rooms as low as $100 midweek during quieter periods.

Have fun planning!

I would second others who suggest looking at a few different weeks. My friend is going the first week of November and there must be a convention that week because the rates of the hotel are more on Wed/Thur than they are on Fri/Sat which is not normal at all!!

We have stayed at MGM and Mandalay Bay and really liked both. Excalibur will have the best deals (from my research). In Vegas it really does not matter where you stay you are never in your room! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks for all your replies :sunny: We fancy the Bellagio, and may take the tip of signing up with the hotel for e-mail offers. We aren't tied to a particular week, so will search for best prices at different times. :teeth:
