DH and I are going to Vegas for 3 nights in November. We'll be at a convention much of the time, but will have time to go out to dinner twice and to one show. What do you recommend? We're staying at the Monte Carlo and will not have a car. I'd say we like comedy better than Cirque shows or music. Also, DH wants to know what the best buffet is these days. He wants to go to one even if it is for lunch or something. He used to love the big buffets there, but we haven't been in over a decade so everything has changed. We'll skip gambling and put our budget towards a show and food. Doesn't have to be cheap, but want it to be a good value!

The Wicked Spoon is excellent! The Bellagio is another good one.

Some other really good ones

Bacchanal in Aria, it is expensive but so much food! I never saw so many choices, my head was spinning with that one.:rotfl:

The Buffet at The Rio

The one at the The Paris.

There is an Earl of Sandwich inside Planet Hollywood also. I am getting full just thinking about it.

Can't help with shows, we don't go.

Thank you!
Just looked these up. Google says the Bucchanal Buffet is at Ceasar's. Was it the Buffet at Aria that had your head spinning or Ceasar's? Ceasar's was always one of my least favorite places to go...just with their confusing entrance/exit. Maybe it's changed now. My DH would love the Aria one just for the Tandoori stuff alone.
Oooh, just saw videos for both. Both look amazing. I think we'll try the one in Aria!

Are you going to be there for the APPEX and SEMA show?

The buffet at the Rio is good, if you have the time to head over to Freemont ST inside the Four Queens there is a good hidden gem.
It's called Hugo's Cellar and we had an incredible dining experience there though it isn't a buffet. The menu includes several courses, including a Table tossed salad and sorbet between courses and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert.
The light show on the ceiling and the zip lining are worth a visit on their own but a good meal never hurts too :)
Don't let the looks of the place fool you :)

Thank you!

Sorry it was the one at Ceasar's. It was excellent food, but expensive. It was like 50 pp at the time. Don't know if the price has gone up or not.

I agree that Bacchanal is a great buffet, although the last two times I was there I had significant trouble with the managers. As long as you don't have to deal with them, you should be fine (I had parties each time and we were supposed to get special rates, but despite bringing email confirmation they refused to honor my special rate).

The Wicked Spoon is also very good. I haven't been to the Spice Market at Planet Hollywood, but I've heard good things. Those are probably the top three on the Strip. The Rio doesn't really impress me much since those have opened.

I wouldn't recommend going to a buffet at lunch unless you have a lot of time. Lines can sometimes top an hour and then you'll want time to explore everything they have to offer. I don't go to a buffet unless I have at least two hours to dedicate to it.

When we were there last fall,we bought tickets for a show at Flamingo which included the buffet. We really enjoyed both. The buffet on it's own was around 18 dollars,if I remember correctly

Wicked Spoon is my favorite as well. If you are in the mood for a burger/shake (they have alcoholic milkshakes!), Holstein's (also at the Cosmo) is really, really good. If you want a nice meal, Gordon Ramsey Steak is really good but not cheap. As for shows, we actually really enjoyed Carrot Top at the Rio.
