Its been awhile since I have visited Las Vegas. There was a time when you could eat cheap... any good and cheap places to eat?

I remember a pirate show at one of the hotels on the strip. I assume this is still running and only runs at a certain time. Any other hotels that have something similar that you can only see "at a certain time".

Thanks!

That show is called Sirens at TI(treasure Island Hotel) It's nightly I believe.
At the Bellagio hotel they have a conservatory and the fountains show there. At Rio they have a show called Show in the Sky. They have the volcano at the Mirage. Those are all free.

If your into animals there are the lions at the MGM, the flamingos at the Flamingo, and an aquarium at Silverton Hotel but it's further down off of the strip.

I'm not sure of cheap resturants on the strip. Everything was a little pricey for me but we ate mainly on the strip as we didn't have a car. I'm sure with a car it's easier to find cheap eats.

I'll be following along as I would like to go back to LV soon. Is there a cheaper time to go? We went in the summer and it was to hot and crowded.

HTH

The show at TI is not what it used to be...kinda hoochie now!!!

There is a coupon book called American Casino guide (or something like that) they have them at Barnes and Nobles, you can look at it and see if any of the coupons are ones you will use and if the cost of the book is worth it for you. They had a lot of buy 1 get 1 free foresturants, small eats (ice cream and so on).

There is also the M &M shop on the strip which is free (to look at but had plenty you can buy).

There are LV boards like the DIS that will most likely know more!

There is earl of sandwich in Planet hollywood. Near M&M there is a building with all kinds of fast food places. Dairy Queen, Subway, I think wendys. Not sure of your budget but in front of Ceasars there is a place called Serendipiditys which serves hot dogs and things like that. I tried to take a pic of the menu once and could not get it to be readable. Mcdonalds is on the strip as well. Dennys is on the strip. THere are quite a few places.

You can also check out restaurants.com for coupons for places you want to go to eat. Wait until they have 70 or 80% off to save the most. If you're driving, it will be nice. We had some wonderful meals for incredibly cheap prices on our last trip.
The Bellagio fountains are my favorite "free" thing. and walking through the Bellagio conservatory and hotel.
Have a wonderful, lucky trip!

the ellis island casino is off the strip and literally part of a super 8 motel but it has some great food deals.

fast food options like earl of sandwich are pretty good.

other than that, vegas has gone upscale and the prices have risen accordingly.

I still love the BLT Burger in the Mirage.

Great burgers and those Twinkie Bits milkshakes!! mmmm....

During our Vegas trip a few weeks ago we stumbled upon the Pizzeria@The Cosmopolitan.

Great NY style pizza. The place is a total hole in the wall (if such a thing exists in the swanky Cosmopolitan). We split three pieces of pizza between the two of us (we were really hungry) and both got a coke (and a free refill). The total bill was around $20.00.

The place is tiny with no seating. You'll be eating your pizza standing up, leaning over a shallow counter attached to the wall.

At the NY,NY resort we grabbed a pair of hot dogs and two beers for about $20.00. It was fun eating hot dogs on the 'streets of New York City.'

Yep...those early days of Vegas with .99 shrimp cocktails and $4.99 all you can eat buffets are long gone. Everything is expensive there just like any resort city.
Check out the coupon books to save some money.

As others have said, there's an Earl of Sandwich at Plant Hollywood, as well as a Sbarro pizza in their food court. There's a food court at the Fashion Show Mall, a few McDonalds up and down the Strip, as well as a Subway and Panda Express. One place that we LOVE is Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill, located inside Harrah's.

Go to old town Vegas, or downtown vegas. Everything is cheaper there, drinks, food, gaming limits. Go to the strip to walk the casinos and see the free shows, but stay in downtown for the deals. Places like El Cortez, 4 queens, fitzgerald's etc.

Check out the Las Vegas Board here on the DIS. There might be some info over there also.

We're going for the first time in a couple of weeks!

We stay for weeks and have no problems finding cheap food.

Ellis Island as mentioned before has an unadvertised $7.95 steak special that includes a nice salad, green beans and a potato. A 20 oz microbrewed beer or rootbeer is also included. It is a good but not great meal, but a great deal. They have other good cheap food like chicken fried chicken and prime rib.

Lotus of Siam has a great all you can eat lunch buffet weekdays for under $10 each. We love the veggies and fruits on it. It is a great change from the heavy foods elsewhere.

Often casino chains like the Station casinos will offer specials to their club card holders. We were paying about $6.99 for a lunch buffet and $10.99 for their dinner buffet. We love the buffets at Green Valley Ranch and Red Rocks. They both have Mongolian BBQs so you can have food cooked to order. I love the grilled shrimp and kalbi ribs here. Sometimes that have a 2 for 1 coupon in the local paper. This is a great deal since they have crab legs when they don't have their lower prices in place. The sauteed crab legs at GVRanch are to die for.

We do use many Restaurant.com certificates for restaurants like Hash House a GoGo or Original House of Pancakes.

I also use the coupons in the Casino Guide. It is easy to recoup your $13 book cost. There was a 2 of 1 buffet coupon at the Silverton. Go on their seafood night and stuff yourselves with snow crab legs for about $12 each.

The Las Vegas Advisor has a great coupon book for sale that includes 2 for 1 coupons for some of the better buffets. It costs $35 or so for the online version but has great discounts for shows as well. Check out their current coupons and their 10 best dining bargains on their top ten list. It is available for viewing without paying to join.

For super cheap shows, check out Vegas for Locals on Ebay. They have auctions for the lesser shows super cheap. I've paid as little as 99 cents to see some entertaining shows in the little venues in town.

The Cheesecake Factory in the forum shops and Grand Lux have huge portions of fairly good food for a good price. These are popular places so expect a wait.

Many of the better cheap restaurants require a bit of a drive, but there are some great options on the strip. Check Tripadvisor and Yelp for other reviews.
