hi everyone! :wave2:
just wanted to say hi!
we are going to las vegas for the first time, one week on wednesday, the 25th april.:yay: :yay:
anyone been to las vegas? what is it like?

not sure what this has to do with WDW (after seeing zumanity, i REALLY dunno what this has to do with WDW), but i've been, did most of it. it's great.

on a good day, i even got $50 from doing a focus group at CBS at MGM and turned it into $300 at the $5 BJ table (coulda been $10-$15 actually, not sure). as long as you don't overindulge and know when to quit, you're good to go. of course, i did play a $100 hand just to do it (and lost).

Not sure how this is a Happy Dance thread, LOL, :confused3 maybe :yay: :yay: those guys did you in and got you moved here.

I would suggest you post a copy of this thread on the community board, most likely a LOT more input there than here. Just a thought.

As for the question, I can't stand Las Vegas, but do go there if I have to, business trips, one wedding. Used to be the smoking was horrendous, but with new law, confines it to only the casinos and bars with zero food available. So it is better then before. I take care of the business element for what I am there for (convention, seminar, etc) and make sure to take in one of the Cirque shows, -O-, Mystre, KA, Love, all EXCELLENT. Checking out the hotels is excellent, nothing like them, nothing like Las Vegas excesses. A side trip to Hoover Dam is recommended also, a great site to see.

The highlight for me on a Las Vegas trip is heading to the airport to return home. That said, I would suggest a LV trip, at least once, for any adult (definitely not a kids place though), nothing like it in the world.

Congratulations! Las Vegas can be a really fun city--I'm sure you'll have a great time. There is a section under the Disneyland forums for "California and the West." It has a lot of really good threads about LV, and you can access it here:

We've been many times, and always find something new to do. And I have to respectfully disagree with you, Dan Murphy, but LV can be a lot of fun for kids. On our last trip (last December, with both sets of grandparents plus other extended family) my kids enjoyed the hotel arcade, making a video of us flying on a magic carpet over LV (3 times  ), Shark Reef aquarium, a 4D pirate show (think Honey, I Shrunk the Audience), Cirque du Soleil's Ka show, lion exhibit at MGM, the movie/water/don't know how to describe it free show at Wynn and (my personal favorite) the Disney Character Warehouse! We got a bunch of $5 t-shirts from DL CA, some cheap toys and pajamas, and souvenier books about DL for $2. During past trips, they've enjoyed other Cirque shows, Blue Man Group, roller coasters, the dolphins, tigers and more at the Mirage, the volcanos at the Mirage, the fountains and conservatory at Bellagio, pirate show at TI (though it's changed), the Children's Museum, and the Freemont Street Experience light and music show.
