Las Vegas, please help

Me and my husband stayed in vegas for the first time in aug, we didn't have a whole lot of money. We stayed at the luxor 50 a night, nothing fancy but was a neat place, room was clean. We did rent a car even though everyone told is not to. I'm glad we did I got a great price 45 for 4 days. Even though everything seems close but its not really especially in heels, not mention it was about 100 out.Valet Is free everywhere jut tip the guy 2 bucks when we picked up our car. We did try to walk up the strip the first night from the luxor and only made to the Belliago. Walking on the heat with one of those 100 oz weak frozen daiquiris isn't that fun.
Disappointed that we didn't get to see any shows.
Fremont street is awesome! Very fun atmosphere ( another reason why I'm glad we rented a car )
The heart attack grill was soooo good!! Best burgers!
Buffet at the Belliago was really great, we ate there for lunch. There was a bit of a line we waited at 20 min but it was worth it. It was the same exact price as the one at Mandalay bay but 100x better
Cathouse at the luxor was a cute club and they had a special $25 unlimited drinking from 5-11pm
The best part was we won about $400 in total and we had no idea how to gamble!

You can always take the monorail... though it cost money but it will take you up the strip very quickly...

There are monorails also between TI-->Mirage
and Mandalay bay--> Excalibur --> Luxor

The monorail at the MGM you have to buy tickets for but the other 2 are both free I believe. It's actually cheaper to take the bus down the strip than the monorail at MGM.

the monorail is super pricey; i'd rather buy a bus pass. and it only takes about 25 minutes to get from mgm to downtown. buses can be crowded, but i ride public transportation every day of my life for work, so i don't find it all that bad. lots of people who never use buses often complain about the time it takes and the amount of people in the bus. honestly, it's nowhere near as bad as the buses in jersey or nyc.

to be clear, the monorail is on the east side of the strip (i.e.m mgm, bally's). the "monorails" albort mentioned on the west side of the strip (i.e., luxor, excalibur) are actually called trams, and yes they are free. i've personally found it quicker to walk the strip than to wind through the various casinos just to get to the tram that only goes like 1 block. but to each his own.

the only time we've taken the monorail was when we went from bally's (our hotel) to the strat (technically the sahara stop). it was a pleasant ride and had a nice view of the strip. i would ride it more if it were cheaper and if i wasn't used to walking everywhere. i wish the monorail went to the airport and downtown as well, but the taxi companies made sure that wouldn't happen.

yay, vegas! it's my favorite place! :goodvibes i go at least once a year (and i've been going for the past 13 years). i highly recommend joining vegas message board; i've been a member for years now, and i love it there. they are very informative and nice.

I KNEW you looked familiar!!!

Im a member of both boards too!!

Fancy meeting you here!!

My screen names are a little different on each board - both names come from my dogs with my girl dog, "Avery", being the only name used in both screen names!!!!
