Las Vegas Buffet and other buffets

I read about this restaurant on the Budget board but can't find any details. Does anyone know more about it? Location, price, and quality of food?

We are looking for places for a family of 8 to eat. We want inexpensive but good food. We will be perfectly happy with Shoney's for a meal or two but need a change every now and then. We're feeding two teenage boys so quantity is important, too. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Las Vegas Buffet is in Kissimmee, I can't remember exactly where but on the opposite side to Old Town and somewhere in that area. As long as you like chinese food, you will find there is loads to eat. There was also pizza, ribs, macaroni and a few other things but mostly chinese. I read somewhere recently that there was a rumour that it hadn't past an inspection.

We were there a couple of years ago though and the food was pretty good.

Golden Corral seems to come recommended although it's not one of my favourites and there is always Ponderosa and Sizzler (although some people don't seem too impressed with Sizzler lately).

We have eaten there a few times, and the selection is very good, but the food is usually lukewarm at best, and I'm not convinced that it isn't kept hanging around for ages. It was posted up some time ago that it had failed its health inspection, and it may be because the food is not kept at the correct temperature, so on our last vacation we didn't chance it.

The Las Vegas buffet was on the "dirty" restaurant list in the local paper a while ago. I live here and I wouldn't chance it.

That's interesting to know. The dirty list eh? That's maybe worse than just lukewarm food. Glad we left it alone.

I don't guess you would know where we could get a copy of this dirty list, do you? I would really like to know some places to avoid. We are planning on eating offsite more this trip than usual. In the past, we have gone to Red Lobster, Shoney's, and Chili's.

It gets posted in the Orlando Sentinel usually 2 or 3 times a month. I will try to remember next time I see it, to post the names of the restaurants. Most of the time, the fine is for no certified food handler or leaky pipes but every once in a while its pretty nasty.
