We are trying to get our trip together for the end of this month. We thought we had it all figured out. We have reservations for WL. It is our 20th anniversary trip. We love both WDW and LV. We have been to both of them many times. We will be going with no kids. We started thinking about LV and now we can't decide on where to go. LV will cost us a little more just because of the gambling money. HELP!!! If you like both of these places, what would you do? We have to decide today because we have an airline coupon (20% off any published fare) and it ends TODAY. We would use it only if going to Las Vegas. We would be driving to WDW. Thanks for any input.

I won't be able to help you with your decision because we're trying to make that BIG decision ourselves for our June trip. We've been going to WDW every year for awhile now but the teen-age sons want to do something different and my sister's family will be going to LV this June and invited us along.

I'm really torn with what to do so I will be curious with what other DISers tell you!:)

We love both and "try" to do both every year. Unfortunately, WDW doesn't always make into our plans as much as Vegas. I would rather go to WDW and DH would rather go to Vegas. For us, Vegas is always much cheaper. We always stay at least 5 nights in WDW to the tune of about $2K. Vegas is always a 3 night stay for about $1200 (including $300 each for gambling). It all depends on the type of vacation you want. I find that after WDW, I need another week just to recover. With Vegas, we do a lot of relaxing. What kind of vacation do you want?

Love both, we have been to WDW once a year for the past 5 years or so, but am currently in the planning stage of a trip with no children, and it' s Vegas!

I find Vegas to be cheaper than WDW as well, all though it's all in how much you plan to spend on gambling.....

Kitty,
Thanks for your reply. Just a little about our experience last July in LV. We had always been in the Jan./Feb. time range and the weather is very nice. We have also always gone without the kids. Well, we enjoy it so much that we wanted the kids (21dd and 16ds) to see it. That was a HUGE mistake. As much as we love it, our kids hated it. Even though they are older than most kids you see out there, there was very little for them to do which made it hard on us. We were constantly hunting things for us to do together and it was also very HOT. Got up to 120 degrees while we were there. Maybe June will be a little better temp wise. The pools were overflowing and we felt that we couldn't stay out in that sun very long anyway, even though we had on the strongest sunscreen we could find. Unfortunately, we are very fair skinned people and turn red quickly. Maybe your sons will find it a different situation, especially with you guys going with another family. Good luck with your decision.

Tina,
I can't make up my mind what I want, that is why I posted. We were hoping that someone might come up with good reasons on why to go to one over the other so it might sway us in one direction or the other. We really stay on the go at both WDW and LV so neither one would be restful. We like to be on the go when on vacation. We don't feel like we have been on vacation if we come home rested. We really love to go to both. We never let this decision get this close to time to go. We will be leaving on Jan. 24. My husband and I both like WDW and LV about the same so it is never an argument over where to go, it is just a struggle with trying to decide.

by the sea,
It usually costs us more to go to WDW also but this time around we have left over tickets and no airfare. Hope you have a great trip.

It sounds like you just need someone to make a decision for you. :D I say go to Vegas. January is a great time to go. As a matter of fact, we are leaving tomorrow morning for Vegas. :p

We too love LV and DW but haven't been to LV in a long time. We went to DW last month without the kids. Here is what I am planning for our next trip:
We will go to LV and DL, that way we get a little of disney on the LV trip.
