Short history three years ago diagnosed with a tumor on left vocal chord radium treatment ensued and into remission. Last May routine check up it had returned, opted for surgery so Laryngectomee.
JUst wondering if anyone would share with me tips , will the climate cause any probs or will it be good for me. How hard would replacement filters and fitting be in case my own supplies are compromised. Any help gratefully received.

I don't share your physical issue, but I do understand your desire to prepare for the trip. Especially since it's your first trip since a major change in your life.
Here's some recommendations and thoughts:
- First of all, if I were in your shoes, I would still check in with my doctor. Explain your concerns, and see if they have any advice, or tips for you. You never know unless you ask, right?
- Next, you can consider shipping to yourself at WDW an extra set of your preferred supplies. That way you have an extra set of supplies waiting for you at the hotel when you arrive. Although the Resorts are now charging a $5 fee to receive a package, I have heard from several people that by letting the front desk staff know that your package is medical supplies, more than half the time the fee is being waived.
- Doctor on Demand is a great service (it uses an app on your smartphone to do a video consult with a locally-licensed physician) that has saved us HUNDREDS of dollars (if not more) in ER fees at WDW. You video chat with the doctor, and they can send prescriptions to local pharmacies, bypassing a potential trip to the nearest ER/Urgent Care that typically starts at $800. Although it may not relate directly to this issue, it's just a great app to have ready when traveling in the US; the doctors can help with things like flu, ear ache, sore throat and more.
- Get on the internet, and do a bit of recon work - find at least one medical supply house in the Orlando area that carries the supplies you may need, and keep their contact info in your phone in case you need it. Many of the medical supply houses in Orlando will gladly deliver to Disney Resorts.
- Similarly, go to
Weather.com (or just Google for "Orlando weather for XXX" where XXX is the approximate date of your upcoming trip) to see what the weather historically looks like for the time of year you will be in Orlando. It's not always hot and humid there; I have tons of photos of our family bundled up in jackets from a winter time trip! The time of year you travel will directly impact your experience at WDW.
Finally, I know how scary it is to travel the first time after a major life change. But you can do this, and have a great trip too!
