Hi there :wave2:
Does anyone know if any of the rides at other theme parks (Universal, Seaworld and Busch Gardens) accomodate the larger/Pooh shaped person
(+ size, 250lbs, 5'1") as one of our party is really worried that she will not be able to fit on the rides.
Any information or weblinks will be appreciated
Many thanks

Go to allearsnet.com

I would post the link but they made me take it out because I have less than 10 posts!:confused3

Once at all ears net
-Click on planning
-Scroll almost to the bottom of the page and "size concerns" is a link on the left.

They have tons of information about rides, turnstiles, bathrooms, clothing...really anything you can think of! They have trip reports and ride reports all for larger people. The good news is, the overwhelming consensus is that disney is for EVERYONE! All shapes and all sizes can have a great time.

Info is also available for Universal at All Ears.

A quick look here for you or the concerned party will surely allieviate any fears.:woohoo:

My husband and I went to both Universal parks in 2001 and he did have problems. He did fit on both coasters but it was difficult and had to have assistance from the ride operators. Very embarassing for him. There are "test seats" that you can try first but of course who wants to go in front of all these people to see if they can fit in a seat or not. I think IOA is more difficult than the other park though just because there are more coaster type rides. We haven't been back since then for this reason and honestly I like Disney much better anyway.

I also suggest the allears website because you can look at photos of the seats and read reviews from other people to get a better idea of what to expect. Just click on the "at large" section. My suggestion is if she's worried the only problems would probably be the coasters. Superman is the BEST ride at IOA in my opinion btw so don't miss it  and she shouldn't have any problem at all riding that.

That would be spiderman not superman:cutie:

I am larger than you and I've had no problems at Disney's parks or Universal's. I didn't do any coasters at Universal so I can't speak on that. Other than that I was comfortable on the rides.

I found the turnstiles at some attractions at the MG a tight squeeze, but when I visted in Jan. a couple had been remove(POC and TTA).

I wouldn't worry about trying the 'test' seats at Islands of Adventure. I don't ride most coasters any more, but when I did, I figure - it's not as if people walking by can't already see that I'm "fluffy". Then I'd get to the loading area and tell the ride operator I need the fat seat.
At um, the Mummy ride in Universal, I simply cannot see the red and green lines to which the sign refers on the test seats. I must be looking in the wrong place, or something. So I got up to the loading platform and told the ride operator this, and that I didn't know if I'd fit in the restraint, and if I couldn't ride I'd understand. He said I'd fit, and I did.
I never tried Kraken. Heck, I only ever rode Dueling Dragons once (but entirely by myself - it was a drizzly morning, my friends were late meeting me, and there was nobody on that side of the park at all :teeth: )

Rock 'N Roller Coaster's test seat used to be out in public. Disney moved it inside the building, in a very discreet location.

Oh, yeah - I'm about your size.
