Ive got a few concerns about our upcoming trip in November.

Up until this year I was a competing powerlifter so I am a very large chap (much larger than when I last went as i was bodybuilding then) and im a little concerned that with a 50 inch chest, 38 inch waist and weighing in at around 20 stone I might struggle to get on some rides.

Should I be concerned or are the rides generally a little more generous in the US? I did go to Alton Towers in the summer, i got on everything ok but one or two things were a bit of a squash and needed a couple of kids to shove the brace down over me :)

rides are much better than alton towers so i wouldnt worry much

Americans are generally on the larger size anyway and they go on anything

I have been larger than i am now and i got on everything and i went on alot while pregnant with twins and was huge!!!

Just go and have a great time

You sound same size as me, 50" chest, 20 stone, hmm.. Ok I only dream of the 38" waist:rotfl2: but the waist doesn't make much difference with rides its mainly chest size, most rides have a couple seats that cater for us, Hulk, Duelling Dragons, Kraken etc. Only ride I can think I have struggled with is Kumba at Busch Gardens, I suspect the 2 seats they have are slightly different as I did it once then 2 days later wouldn't fit.
Most rides have a standard seat at the entrance to try, if you fit in there you can sit where you like, if you can't you will have to line up to try the others.

At universal I of Adventure - hulk and duelling dragons have special seats - 3rd row?? these are the rides with the overhead harness.

The cast members just direct you discretely to that row (my husband is 6ft 4 with a 50 plus inch chest)

I read somewhere upto 54 inch chest you are definitely fine.

Disney - husband had no problems but he didn't go on anything with a overhead harness than i can think of.

As Wayne said you will normally be able to test a standard seat before joining the queue, but most rides have seats for larger guests anywhere.
The only one I have heard of lately that doesn't have any larger seats is the new Forbidden Journey ride in WWoHP

my hubbys around the same size as you and 6ft 5 to boot and he goes on everything~ youll be fine...have fun!

Hi

I can only Ditto what the others have said:thumbsup2

My DH has roughly the same measurements as you and he goes on everything, he has more trouble with trying to get his tray out in the aircraft seats than he does on the rides:rotfl2:

So true, then again that is to do with stomach size. I can fit on any ride, and yet the tray requires breathing in (even in premium seats!) and my knees are past my ears...

I have a 52 inch chest (and stomach... *breathes in*) and I was fine, my shoulders are too wide for the HP ride though, 2 ft 4inches... not much hope.

Good luck, and a good trip!
