My ds and dd have quite the pin collection. Usually I have them bring about 20 or so in a small case w/ us on the airplane to trade when we get to Disney. This time, they're asking if they can bring their BIG pin books (just in case they want to do more trading).

So, other than it being heavy for their carry-on, is it allowable on airplanes?? I'm talking about the big 12"x14" Disney black pin trading bag. I sure wouldn't want it to be confiscated as some sort of potential weapon.:scared1:

THanks for the info!:goodvibes

You will be just fine on the airplane. Just allow a little extra time to get through security. We typically travel with two rolling backpacks completely PACKED (including every pocket) with pins. When we put our backpacks though the scanner, it practically GLOWS!:scared1:

We fly out of BWI airport and they will open the bag and go through every page of every book and every pocket (and we have learned that there are a few Disney pin fans on the Security team!). They also typically will swab at least one of the bags to make certain that there are no illegal substances.

The funny thing is when we fly back to Baltimore from Orlando, the backpacks still glow through security and they look at us and say, "pins?" and when we say yes they just waive us right through.

I hope this information helps.

Thank you very much! We'llb e flying out of CT and while it's a smaller airport, there security is very tight. I'll allow for the extra time. Thank you!
