For our next trip I would like to have dinner with everyone going (and two extras) to celebrate my husband's birthday and have a cake to surprise him. Has anyone ever had their large party seated together? Our's will probably be 9 people and I'm thinking of having it at Flying Fish. I'd hate to have to tables so not everyone can sit together and I'm hoping if I make my ADR for right when they open it won't be a problems but I wanted to hear about everyone else's experience.

we ate at a dozen different restaurants in WDW w/12-14 people and never had a problem all sitting together except at coral reef...
some of the places we dined... raglan road, crystal palace, 'ohana, nine dragons, akershus, donald's b'fast, mama melrose and more...

Thanks Gigi! Our party will include my family, my sister's bf, DH, and myself. My DH's grandparents who live in Sarasota are hoping to drive up and go to dinner with us and I would hate for our party to be split up if they can make it.

We have done large parties (one vacation with 11 and another with 17) and the only places where we were not seated together were at Coral Reef (booth and table next to each other), Sci Fi (got cars next to one another) and Crystal Palace (tables next to one another). Every other place, we were seated at a large table.

FYI, it appears that any group larger than 7 wishing to make reservations at Flying Fish must call the resturant directly. I tried making ADR's for a group of 8 today. First online, which only said nothing was available and suggested other restaurants. I then called the WDW-DINE number and they said for a group of 8 or larger I had to call Flying Fish directly and gave me the number. I called, and the instructions were to leave a message and they will call back within 48 hours... I guess we will see what happens next!

A key thing is getting your reservation close to restaurant opening time.

We once had close to 20 people for my daughters b day at California Grill. My wife made the reservation well in advance. They assigned a lady to take care of setting up for us and she was there the whole time to make sure things ran smoothly. They did a good job of it all.
