Large party reservations?? HELP!!

Ok planning a trip with my family and there are 9 of us. I only want to do a couple meals together and I know even that will be difficult but now I have found it's impossible??! Why won't disney let me book two tables at the same time? There are very few places that have a table for nine so I am trying to book two tables and it says I have to replace my other table. Is there any way around this? Will I have to have my kids make reservations for the other table??

I had this situation too. I ended up getting my wife to login on one laptop and I was logged in on another, booked both reservations at the same time so I could try to get similar or exact times for both.

Some restaurants that use Open Table allow reservations for 9. I made one last year for 10 at Il Mulino at the Swan using Open Table.

Disney won’t let one person book 2 tables at the same time (actually, I think it’s within one hour of another ADR) because this is their minor effort to keep people from hogging more ADRs than they already do. Obviously this creates a lot of difficulty for large parties. Most people who have to make reservations of more than six will have two people making reservations individually under their own MDE sign in. Hopefully there’s someone else in your party who can also help to make some reservations so you can split your group up and get two reservations to cover what you need. I’m not sure because I haven’t done it but I also think if you have someone else in your MDE family and friends list you can assign the reservation for them to control and then perhaps you could make another one under your own name. As far as I’ve been able to see this can only be done on the website and not on the app itself. Hopefully some of the many people who have booked large parties will also give you some advice.

We have a group of 11, 3 sets of adults, so I used one of the other adult's MDE's to book the second reservation for the same time. Not sure if there is any other way around it?

When you make the first reservation, pick someone else from your party as the lead. Then pick yourself as the lead on the second reservation. (At least that's how it used to work)

Also, some restaurants offer tables for large parties, and others don't. We booked 10 at: Olivia's, Homecomin, Via Napoli, Yak & Yeti. Some we were at one table, others two.

Recently booked a trip for 9 of us and I called to get most of the reservations. Very helpful on the phone.
