Large lockers at parks

Hi folks,

First apologies if this has already been answered recently but all of the information I can find is quite old.

I’m trying to decide whether to rent a car or stick with Uber/Lyft for our upcoming trip.

Overall I’m leaning towards Uber/Lyft since it will save us money, we can have a drink or two, and we don’t especially enjoy driving.

But one sticking point is what to do on our departure day. We are staying at Universal but our airline has Disney Springs checkin, so on departure day we plan to go to Disney Springs to check in luggage then spend half a day in a park.

The sticking point is that means we’ll have our hand luggage with us on departure day & no car to leave it in, so this plan only works if we are confident of their being lockers in a park big enough to fit our hand luggage.

Does anyone have recent experience of large lockers at Epcot and/or MK, and are they reliably working and sure to have space for us? Or any suggestions for a backup option?

Matt

Ive never heard of airline check-in at Disney Springs but Id like to follow along to see the response. Generally speaking airline check-in at Disney resorts is like checking in at the airport. They give you your boarding pass, tag your luggage and the next time you see it is at baggage claim at your final destination.

I did not realize Disney Springs has an airline checkin area.
:confused3

Is this new?

I think it’s Virgin that has had an airline check in at Disney Springs. Been there a while. It was always somewhere near Cirque, not sure if it’s still that airline, if there are more now or in the same location, but it is a thing that people have used.

Well there ya go. I had no idea. Add this to the 4 bajillion other things I’ve learned here over the years.

PP linked an article that may be helpful. If those options work for you, keep in mind that you can't bring luggage onto a Disney bus (save for DME), so you'd have to Uber to the park you are storing it at first and then Uber from there to the airport when you leave.

Alternatively, you could reach out to a private car service to see if they'd be willing to help. Tony Hinds is often recommended here. For a fee (or maybe if you ask nicely), they may be willing to hold your luggage for a few hours if they are driving you from Universal to Disney and then later to the airport. Doesn't hurt to ask to see if you could work something out.

Worst case, you can always store your luggage at your Universal hotel and just allow time to Uber back there to pick it up before going to the airport.
