Large Groups Other Than Creekside Meadow

Has anyone ever seen what looks like a large gathering all in one (or two) loops.

Just wondering if I called group reservations at 500 days out could one reserve all of Loop 1500 and Loop 1600. (Those two loops would cover folks that need partial hookup, full hookup, and pet loop)

I know large "camping" groups meet up at other campgrounds around the country, just wondering if it's possible at Ft. Wilderness without individual reservations and being spread all over the campground.

Not sure how to go about it . but we did see a rather large scouting group from Canada spread out over 2 loops. They pretty much had 1 loop by themselves and mixed on the other loop.

Yep, it can be done. I saw a church group that had rented all of loop 1700 one year. It was October and they had handmade pumpkin signs at all the sites with the family names, and they had a large chalkboard sign at the beginning of the loop with the activities and meeting times listed.

Man, that looked to be a fun church!

I also saw a group of scouts that had rented a couple of sites and had about 5 tents on each site. I sounds like you want more than that, though.

There used to be a special reservation number for the Grand Gatherings reservations. Anyone know if they still have that? Because renting all of two loops would definately be a Grand Gathering!

Disney is trying to have Magical Gatherings/Grand Gatherings use on line bookings, but for something this large call Walt Disney World Resort Group Sales (800) 327-2989. Group sales only deals with folks who are looking for more than 10 guest rooms. Anything less than 10 is handled by CRO.

I know Florida popup campers camping club has had a couple of campouts at FW. They had to book individually and have it noted on their resi they were with the group. But I think they only needed 10 – 15 sites. I’m sure the key would be top book as early as possible.

Thanks for all the input!! I've got something cooking in the back of my brain right now that I want to organize, but it will be a few years off. I figure group reservations would be the place to call, I've just never seen a large group all in one loop at Ft. Wilderness before.

I don't recommend calling the grand gatherings line. It will take you all day to book it. Believe me it takes ALL day.
