Hi Folks,
It's great to be back asking questions on this board, because that means that I'm headed back to WDW! This time it's me, DH, DD (10), DS(7), sister, brother-in-law, nephew (7), neice (1), grandma, and grandpa (my parents). That's 10 of us, if you're keeping track. Grandma has post-polio syndrome, extremely weak muscles, and uses a walker full-time at home, and a wheelchair whenever she goes out. At WDW she'll use a wheelchair full-time. We're already comfortable about which rides she can go on, but I'm concerned about our crowd size. On some of the rides, we'd like to all ride together if possible (we're perfectly happy to wait in the regular line like the rest of the world when possible), but sometimes that's not possible. Normally the limitation for accompanying someone in a wheelchair is 5 guests plus the person in the wheelchair. Has anyone ever tried it with more than 5 people?
THis is a big concern with the shows as well. Festival of the Lion King comes to mind right away, since there is limited seating behind the wheelchair space. We grown-ups would be perfectly happy to leave grandma and grandpa with the kids in the wheelchair area and sit up higher, but we're not so sure how happy they would be. SHould we just get there really early and sit behind the wheelchair area (and the overflow folks can sit behind that), or is there another alternative so that we're not "taking advantage" of the situation.
I don't want to try to get special access, but I do want to try to stay together as much as possible. Any advice?
Thanks, thanks!
Sara
