I’m planning a large family reunion type trip to Disney for October (21 people two of which are my daughters who qualify for DAS.) we will be splitting the days between families and not everyone will go on every DAS ride. Here’s how it looks:
MK Day 1: 14 people (2 DAS qualifying individuals).
MK Day 2: 12 people (2 DAS qualifying individuals)
HS Day 3: same people from day 1.
HS Day 4: same people from day 2

I’m super nervous about making this work. We will have 6 people per 1 person with DAS for most of the rides on the rides except a couple of rides where there are no height restrictions where we will have two 7 per DAS. Will that work?

Also, Do you think they can link everyone together for the 4 days or will I have to change out who is linked every trip? People are doing other parks on other days. The ones I listed are the ones they are doing with us.

Can anyone ease my mind? My children haven’t see their cousins in three years and I really want to all be together as much as possible.

I don’t think it will be a problem cross-linking people, but remember there may be limits on the number of disabled individuals permitted on a ride at any one time (especially if the limitations involve mobility).

Great. Thanks for the quick response. Yes, I don’t mind splitting us up however in the ride, as long family sits with family. No one has major issues with mobility.

You should be able to link everyone, then pick riders when requesting the return time. However it sounds as though you are planning 7 or 8 riders total per DAS for each ride? That is technically over the limit of 5+DAS holder (total 6 riders). Whether they’ll make exceptions may depend on the ride, and how many people fit in a ride vehicle. I would just be prepared for that. Plan FP+ for the “absolutely must be together” attractions.

Enjoy your vacation!

Just remember that there are very few attractions where 12-14 people are going to actually be sitting anywhere close to each other in a ride vehicle - perhaps explaining that to your daughters will help ease the stress of trying to get everyone on something together?

Thank you. Sorry, I probably wrote it confusing since I was tired. The total for the day of 14 and 12 includes the DAS holders. It’s actually going to be 5 people and one DAS holder (x2) for most rides. We only have a few rides that will be 6 riders and one DAS holder and we will adjust who rides those. We have several that will be less than 5 people per rider, also. Hopefully it will all work out. I’m more worried about linking that many people even though they won’t all be at the park on the same day. Thank you

Thank you. My daughters won’t fully understand the concept ahead of time, but I’m hoping they will get a chance to ride with different family members for different rides and that will make everything feel ok. I have no problem splitting us up some as long as we can sit with some family and be close to the same time frame.

You should be fine as other have said. Since you have a big group they might want you all at GR to link everyone to the DAS. it should like day one is one group ( I will call this one group A) then the next day is another group let’s call this one group B. Then the next day will be group A Turn at the park and the day after group B turn. If this is the case you will have to go to the park the first day with all of group A And the following day with all of group B now they might have to delete group A from the list to add group B if they do this you will have to go back to GR the next day to add group A back on the DAS and agin your last day for group B. You can ask the CM too keep everyone since they all are coming the next day.

Thank you. I did speak to someone today at Disney who actually knew what they were talking about (you never know what you are going to get when asking about DAS) and he said it should be fine since they can only use it if the DAS holder is on the ride with them. So I shouldn’t have to deactivate anyone. Also, he said my kids should be in the system since they were approved three years ago when we went and that all we have to do is add the added family members. Hopefully it’s as smooth as he says.

I was thinking the same as you about going to guest services everyday. Hopefully just the first two days will be it.

I would be ready for them to take there picture for the DAS and also every now and then the CM will ask me for my needs are so just be ready Incase they ask agin ( most of the time is was easer then the first time I went). Also the phone CM have been know not to know what goes on in the parks so there is that too but sound like you have a good idea of what to and if something comes up just go with it Also look in my signature for the guest experience Botha they were a life saver for me my last trip

Since they have already had DAS before, when you go to guest services to get the DAS this time, start with "I would like to RENEW the DAS for my two children".

Many people have found that renewing is a little smoother as often it is then just retaking the photo and adding the people that need to be added, as opposed to having to give an explanation again. However, sometimes you are asked again "why", so be prepared for that too.
