We are planning a Disney vacation, cruise first, and then the world. What are some tips on rooms/suites for a family of 9 or possible 11? We plan on being at Disney on Oct 4th,2007. Hoping to include MNSSHP. Really don't want to stay off site. Any tips or recommendations?

Rent points from a Disney Vacation Club member and rent one of the on-site villas that sleep up to 12.

Probably be your cheapest way to go.. Check over on the DVC board for more info about that. Rough math indicates that renting a Grand Villa at Old Key West would run about 372 points for 7 nights from your suggested date of arrival. Points rent for about 10$ a point.. so.. you'd be looking at about 3800$ for 7 nights. That's for 12 people... works out to about 45$ a head/per night. Hard to beat that.

Renting 3 or 4 rooms at most resorts other than value .. would get rather pricey in a hurry. 600$ to 1800$ a night for three to four rooms.. and up.. x however many nights you want to stay.. The extra charge for 2 extra people in the room would add up as well.. even in the values.

Another option would be 3 rooms at a Value. This would probably be your cheapest option.

You might be able to get two rooms at Port Orleans Riverside (they have trundle beds) and they are the only moderate resort that allows five people in a room. It really depends on how many people you have going, but for my brother that is the most reasonable choice. He has 5 people going in September.
