Has anyone stayed here lately? Any details you can provide? Is the parking lot safe?

don't know will be there shortly - second week in March - if use to be the Sheraton and that part of Kissimmee is fairly safe (or use to be) - it is on the West side - the East side (on the other side of the turn off for WDW) was the unsure side.

this LaQuinta should be fine - the Sheraton was before it got run down and the management didn't fix it up.

When will you be there?

the other LaQuinta is new - it was built last summer - but it is not as close to WDW - closer to SW and US/IOA and Super Walmart.

To be specific it used to be a Four Points by Sheraton, which is Sheraton's "budget" line of hotels.

This hotel is coming up quite a bit on Priceline for $19 per night. Check www.biddingfortravel.com for more information on hotels that come up on Priceline and how bid effectively.

I will be there for the very busy weekend of Valentines Day. Gold-please post back so I can prepare myself for the following weekend.:bounce:

Will do

I stayed at La Quinta Inn Lakeside this past weekend and the place is great! Especially considering I got it for $25/night at Hotwire. The staff is great....almost Disney like. Upon check in they give you alot of stuff, mostly pamphlets to places to go see other things but for the kids they also include Disney stickers.

The room was large, nothing broken or old looking. It was really great. My only advice is ask for a room close to the main lobby as the walk can be sort of long if they put you in one of the farther away buildings(I was in Flamingo). There are 3 pools, which are heated and open for quite a while. I saw the one by me and it looked great. They have a mini golf course which I suppose has seen better days.

The hotel is located VERY close to Disney...maybe a mile or two. On one side of it is a "lake" although it looks more like a resevoir. On the other is a huge mini-golf attraction. Places to eat around La Quinta are Denny's(I ate there), Shoneys, Waffle House(ate there) and I think a Sizzler.

All in all, its a great hotel and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

thanks for the great review!!!

I was not accepting it to be that good - glad LaQuinta has fixed it up!!!

Now I just need one on the Rodeway Inn Maingate - I looked in Kissimmee 2002 book and I couldn't find that address in there - so maybe it is new???? that would be great!

Thanks for the great review. I am taking my daughter on a short surprise trip in March. I got it for $19 on priceline. Of course, with a price that low, I'm not complaining about anything :D

do you eat at any of their restuarants?

do you have the price for the minature golf?

Didn't eat at their restaurants. There is a Pizza Hut onsite and they give you coupons at check in for Pizza Hut and their other restaurants.

I didn't play mini golf either....I was only there for 3 nights.

Hi everyone!! Seems as if this place is decent, I was so hesitant to stay off property due to all the horror stories of how shabby the places are. Also seems as if March is a good time to head down to Disney. We will be there mid March also. Well thanks for a great site.. Oh also do you know if they have airport shuttles or should I just stick to Mears? Or should I rent a car? Thanks for the info .all

No airport shuttle so I'd go with Mears if your party is 2 or less. If you have more than 2, than either towncar service or rental car would be a good bet. Also, the hotel does have shuttle service to the parks but it's pretty weak at best. It's only good if you want to go to MK or Epcot and don't mind getting there exactly at opening. Aside from that, the times are limited so you may want to rent a car to avoid taxi costs.
