What is in this drink and how much? Are they good? They look great!

Very yummy. They serve it in a pineapple and it has rum and 151 rum in it too. I always get one at the Poly. So I can Drink and Monorail.:D

Do yourself a favor and try a Backscratcher too. Yum! Love those Poly Bartenders--they always make them nice and strong!

Funny you had to bring up the backscrather... I had both of them in Aug when I was there and then attempted to walk around MK after..........ran into a trash can.:p

Boy--those drinks sound AWESOME.
What restaurants are they available at-I'm assuming the pool bar serves them also.

22 days and counting to our POLY adventure!!!!

The Tambu Lounge next to 'Ohana is where we did our afternoon drinking. That's our idea of a break from the parks! Between us, DH and I tried four of the rum drinks on the menu and loved them all. About $6.50 each, but the size of two standard drinks I've had other places and absolutely delicious.

Betsyt82--you've got to get in some more practice with those Backscratchers!

The Lapu Lapu is more expensive. It's about $10, but very inpressive! BTW, the pineapple is full and that small glass to the right is filled with the extra. Yummy!

RobinB--you've convinced me to try my first Lapu Lapu this trip!

Just an FYI, you only get the left over in a glass if you order a Lapu Lapu at the lounge. If you order this drink from O'Hana you just get the pineapple full of this wonderful brew!

You can also order a Lapu Lapu at Kona and I believe we did get the leftover, too.

I love the mai tais!:hyper:

What exactly does the Lapu Lapu taste like? Or does it matter, LOL!

They taste like pineapple with a little bit of a coconut taste also. You would never suspect the amount of alcohol in them by the taste. If you make it to a 2nd Lapu Lapu (they are pretty potent!), it won't matter what they taste like! LOL

Lapu Lapu is my favorite drink ever. I also tried the backscratcher last time and that was also really good. It also came with an actual backscratcher....how cute !!!

Thanks for the info! Im not big on fruity drinks, but I like pineapple and coconut. Now the big decision...do I have one on our night at Ohana when we celebrate DS's birthday or do I wait until the end of our trip for my birthday dinner at Kona. Or maybe both? ;)

had a Lapu Lapu for my birthday last year... wowee. Loved it. Tastes mostly of pineapple. It's two drinks in one because of the "overflow glass."

I do not like fruity drinks either and usually like something with vodka in it - but if I get near the Poly - I have to have a Lapu Lapu. My DH says I make the strangest face while drinking from it - almost like it is so strong - but I keep on going.

One lapu lapu is great - if I go for number 2 I am ready to drive the monorail!!!!

Loved the picture in this thread - brought back great memories so thanks.:wave2:

Those tropical drinks all sound so good. If there can be a DATW (aka "Inebrienations" at Epcot) why can't we have a Tambu Tour:hyper: It would require much less walking.
