Laptops: cheaper now or in summer?

My DD is off to college in the Fall and she needs a new laptop. For some reason, she wants a Dell and not a 2-in-1. We are looking sub $500 price range.

There are several options on Black Friday, but I'm wondering if prices will be better if we hold off to summer when stores seem to have graduation and back to school sales.

Any thoughts?!

A couple of years ago, I got a dell on their black friday sale. I bought it actually on Thanksgiving evening online.

I've been very happy with that laptop. So I'd check their website on Thanksgiving Day and see what they offer.

I doubt you'd find anything better on back to school sales. but that's just my opinion. I'd be interested to see what others say.

If you live in a state with a sales tax holiday, they usually have one before school starts so that might be significant.
