laptop question

My husband and I are considering the Spirit of America trip next fall. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with bringing a latop on one of these trips. It seems as though there are portions of the trip (i.e. the biking portion) where I would not be able to bring my laptop and someone else would be placing it in the hotel room and I am concerned as to the safety of that.

I brought my laptop on my London/Paris adventure. I had no problems. Yes it was transferred by Disney staff on the EuroStar from London to Paris, but it made it okay! I figured it was covered on my trip insurance, plus all my photos were backed up on CD if anything happened!

Be sure to check with your insurance. The insurance we have for the Viva Italia through DVC does not cover anything specific. Just $500 per person for lost luggage. My place of work has very specific rules about laptops and there is no way I could leave it on a bus during the day while touring. Plus, heat is really bad for laptops. Just food for thought.

I brought my laptop during our Spirit of America trip in August and there were no problems at all. I kept the laptop in the hotel room during the day when we were out and about having fun, like biking around the National Mall.

The only times I placed the laptop inside the suitcase was when we were traveling between cities on the bus. But if you don't want to do that, you could bring the laptop with you onto the bus. I felt better knowing the laptop would be delivered to our room inside the suitcase and not have to worry about forgetting it on the bus...

I took my laptop this past summer when my husband and I went on the Southwest Splendors tour. I wanted to download my pictures each day from my camera. I kept the laptop with me on the bus when we were going between destinations and in the hotel room when we were touring. Never had a problem.
