Laptop lock and tracking software

DD is heading off to college in a week and I am looking for recommendations for reasonably priced locks (for Apple Macbook Pro) and also tracking software. Thanks!

I have the lojack for laptops on both my laptop and now on my son's laptop that he took to school with him. Thankfully I have not had to use it but it gives me peace of mind knowing it is recoverable if needed.

As for the locks, I thought about getting one for my son's laptob but could not figure out how to put it on his laptop. The other proble is that there is really no place in his dorm room to secure it.

Most laptops have a place for the lock on the right side towards the back.
Look on the side or back of your laptop for a small oval hole with a lock symbol next to it. That's where the lock goes in. If you can't find it send me the name and model of your laptop and I will find it for you.

If you find her a lock make sure she's going to use it! I adjunct at a university and you would not believe the number of laptops I see sitting unattended and not locked down. I usually have at least one student tell me his/her computer was stolen at some point during the semester.
