Laptop in room safe?

Dh and I will be staying at CBR in June. He wants to take his laptop. I think I heard that the rooms have a safe in them. If this is true, would a laptop fit in the safe?

No the safes are pretty small. They are only big enough for a small purse and you return airline tickets. They are only about 3 inches deep also.

At the Poly, the safes are about 10 inches by 10 inches square. Certainly too small for a laptop, but more than 3 inches deep. What hotel has such tiny safes? Did you mean they are 3 inches deep under the door level? That sounds about right.

I took my laptop on our feb. trip and it fit in the safes at both POP and AKL. The safes were probably about 3 inches deep, 10-12 inches tall and maybe 8-10 inches wide. I could also fit my checkbook in next to my laptop.

Buy a Kensington lock for your laptop. Then you can attach it to the laptop and around a piece of furniture in your room. They cost about $20.

Just returned April 14 from CBR after eight days. Left my laptop on table everyday powered off. No problems whatsoever. Had to bring it over on the bed to plug into data port to check email and go online. You shouldn't have any problems leaving it out.

Check with the CM's. I took mine in Feb. It was in a backpack, on the top shelf of the closet, no problem.

The WL has a "safe" room.. kinda like a safe deposit room at the bank. I don't think they cahrged me and they had several size boxes available.

Disney may be safer but I wouldn't leave my laptop out. Anyone could take it. Insurance companies are requiring you to show that you did something to prevent the theft. Sitting on a desktop doesn't show any theft prevention.

I didn't feel comfortable leaving my laptop out in the room. I just put it in the suitcase and locked the suitcase. Had no problems.

Our laptop did not fit the wall safe in our room at YC. We put it in a locked carryon bag on the top shelf of the closet (out of sight - out of mind). We were told that we could take it to guest services and they could lock it in a safe there but we didn't bother. If you felt more comfortable doing this you could call them and ask.

I have never had a problem. However, to play it safe, I suggest you not leave the laptop out each day, why tempt someone. Best place is to put it in your suitcase and lock it!

My husband can put his laptop in the safes at the AKL although it takes some manuevering. POR safes were to small. He keeps it in a locked suitcase when we've stayed there. His is a Dell Inspiron.

I have a Kensington cable lock. It's probably 99% safe left out but I don't want to be the 1%.
