As you can probably guess, I swim laps for exercise. I'm going to HHI Labor day week, and to SSR for 3 days in Nov and 3 days in Dec. (I LOVE THE DVC) Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has ever used the pools in the morning to swim laps. The recreation notes for HHI say that the beach house pool is "good for lap swimmers"-but I've been to hotels that say that about pools that take 3 strokes to cross.

HH beach house pool is good sized (?15-20 yards at its longest) and is rectangular in shape. You should be able to get a decent workout in it.

cool-thanks. I'll have to get up early to beat the kiddies into it.

I've used the Beach House pool to swim laps. It opens at 8am and even in the busy summer months, I usually have the pool to myself at 9am. We usually go down to the beach early for a walk, brief swim in the ocean and then a warmdown in the pool befor eheading back to the resort. Usually, the only others around are CMs. You should have no problem at all. (Afternoons would be a different story though as the pool does get pretty busy.)

Enjoy!

The SSR quiet pool in Congress Park would be excellent for swimming laps.

It is large and deep enough all over. It stays pretty quiet too, and I did see someone doing laps a couple of mornings while we were there.

I walk, I cant drink all that water! :goodvibes

Now I'm really excited about my trips! I can keep up my swimming! Let the countdown begin!!!!

just sneak over to the Swan in the morning :smooth: they have a great lap pool :teeth:

sorry no sneaking around :goodvibes

Have a great trip. One thought - as far as I know, the only pool at any WDW resort specifically set up for lap swimming is the Casitas Pool at the Coronado Springs Resort. Might be worth hopping over there at least one day...
