:)I had lap band almost two years ago. Need to lose 100lbs have only lost 23 so I have also turned to WW for assistance. You see I have had a heart attack 5 years ago (i was only 41 at the time) and need to lose this weight. I have increased my excercise which is good but still having no success. I have alway been a fan of the Dis so I thought I would look to my dis pals for any additional help. Thanks for any help you can give.

Tomorrow morning call your doc and make an appointment. You might need a fill. #2, start tracking everything you put in your mouth. I use the myfitnesspal.com ap and track my food and exercise. Good luck and you can do it! Lap band is an awesome tool, but it still takes lots of hard work, both food, exercise and mental work too. You can do it!

My fills are about max out. Thank you for your support I will keep trying. Just had to get it out. Thanks

First of all....I'm sorry you have gone through such a big ordeal only to not have the outcome you desired. Second of all....sorry about the heart attack. Hope you are recovering.

WW is a great program...and it really works if you follow it! After many attempts over many, many years, I finally hit my goal weight and have been within about 5 pounds of my goal for a few years now. What changed this time you ask? I stuck with it and followed the program!

I could go on and on about WW, but I won't for now.

If you are doing WW online and struggling, I suggest you start attending real meetings. If you can find a WW leader who inspires you, it will make a big difference!

PM me if you want to chat further about WW!............P

I know your post is a few months old, but I just found this board. (I have been lurking on the Dis for over a year.) I have had my band for nearly a year and I'm 20 lbs away from a normal BMI for the first time in my adult life.

Even though your said your band is maxed for fills, I would go back to your surgeon have him check things out under a fluroscope. It's possible that you have lost fluid in your band due to evaporation or a leak. If you regularly eat over one half cup of food at a sitting, you may have strechted your pouch. It's also possible that your band is too full and you are choosing less dense proteins and sliders because they easier to eat.

I had a friend that had some fluid removed from her band before a cruise. After the cruise, her surgeon planned to refill her band in three stages. After the first stage, she was in the green zone: rarely hungry, satisfied after a meal for four to five hours, able to eat most dense proteins. She hit her goal six months later and has been maintaining for six months.

Are you still following the band basics? 60 to 90 grams of protein per day, eat your protein first, veggies next, and then, only if you are still hungry, starches, don't drink your calories, avoid slider foods and snacking.

WW is a great program, but unless the meeting leader is familiar with the band, a lot of their advice isn't applicable to bandsters. Filling up with veggies is great advice for most folks, but if you fill up with veggies, you may not be able to eat the protein that your body needs.

Good luck on your journey from Pooh sized to Rabbit sized.
