It hangs around your neck and you put your Disney trading pins on them. It a way to show your trading pins off.

Some people also use lanyards with a pouch attached to hold their KTTW cards, photopass, fastpasses, etc. It keeps everything handy so you aren't digging into a bag or taking a chance of things falling out of your pockets. It's especially helpful during EMHs when you need to show your resort ID at every ride.

I got mine at Walmart for $3! I only purchased it because it had a little plastic pouch that I used for handy storage of our KTTWC and fast passes. I am not a pin trader but a couple CMs decided I needed some pins for my bare lanyard and gave me 2!

Mine has little minnie and mickey heads on it.

DH refused to wear the lanyard but I do have a few pics of him with it on!

We use ours for pin trading, but you don't have to trade if you're wearing a lanyard. A lot of people use them to carry stuff, we keep our APs and our FPs in our pouches. If you get one for your DD make sure it's small enough for her.
