I've never had a lanyard when at Disney (then again I haven't been to Disney very often or recently, and our package that we bought through Costco is supposed to come with a lanyard. Does anyone know what that lanyard looks like or how that works? And can you buy a pouch or something separately for it to hold the ticket and such as I've heard people talk about.

I've seen some cute lanyards on Amazon.com and was wondering if they are anything like those. I was thinking of buying two for my kids ahead of time, but if we already get the same sort of thing with our package I don't want to spend the money.

Thanks for your input.

I'm usually see them with pins on them, for the pin lovers at the parks. However, I have also see people put their ticket in a clear sleeve at the end or their AP.

I found a picture of an older one. It will be similar, the pin will be different. It will come with a plastic pouch, but personally I don't use it for park tickets since I am too afraid of it falling off.

I put my park tickets & fastpasses in my Costco lanyard, which was similar the one pictured above (mine was green.) I was a bit nervous about the pouch falling off, but it stayed on for all 4 days that we were there.

They are pretty ugly, but they serve their purpose well. I'm too cheap to buy prettier ones, lol!

That's the same style Costco Travel lanyard we had. We never used the pouch, as it's a sort of harder plastic and I was VERY worried about it breaking off. So we immediately bought the Disney pouches (about 6 bucks?) b/c they are softer, and I felt that if they were pulled they would just stretch a bit, instead of just breaking off.

We used the lanyards for a day or too, but they were wide and scratchy. And so we bought Disney lanyards (around 4 or 5 each).

So I would just plan on getting new ones. :)

FYI, the Disney lanyards (and the travel company ones as well) close at the front with velcro, so they aren't a choking hazard. I know it doesn't look like it in that picture, but the part "above" the plastic clicky thing does that. If your kids are younger, make sure whatever you get, if you get it away from Disney, has the velcro bit for safety.

So, would the Disney lanyard not be good for keys? I need a new lanyard for my classroom keys and whistle and I like to wear my Disney pins to school. I was going to get one this summer but not sure if velcro on the front is a good thing. I don't want it to fall of. You think lanyards are everywhere until suddenly you try to just go to Target and buy one. :confused3 My old lanyard is looking not so hot anymore.

I don't know how many keys you're carrying, but I used a Disney lanyard with my classroom keys (4-5 keys). I didn't wear it very often, but I don't think the velcro would have been an issue. The direction that the weight pulls is not the same direction that will undo the velcro, if that makes sense.

I have three keys and a whistle. That is heavy enough around my neck, which is why I don't wear one to Disneyland. I wear it everyday for fear of locking myself out of the room and/or loosing my keys. :rotfl: If they are around my neck, than I know where they are! I'm not exactly sure how the velcro works, but if you say you didn't have problems, that sounds good to me. :thumbsup2

Hey Thanks everyone! I think I'm going to buy some I found on Amazon of all places. They looked cute. I haven't posted enough here to post a link though.

Yes, the Costco ones would probably do the trick but they aren't very cute. I so appreciate your posting a picture of one!!

Just wanted to chime in here about the clear plastic pouch. I used mine for my room keys, and found out it was pretty cheap plastic and would rip after some use (like taking out tickets to get FP's). After running back to the kiosk place twice to replace it, I ended up buying one of those hard plastic rectangular boxes (like the ones people take to the beach) to put tickets/door keys/etc in. Works MUCH better.

Yes we trade pins (and buy them online before we go so they're cheaper), but to me, having the tickets, etc handy was SUPER convenient. Also, I've deactivated my room keys by putting them in the same shorts pocket as my cell phone. This way, they stay separate and no more being locked out!

Just passing it on!

Oh, I never would have thought of Amazon for that. I'll go look too. :thumbsup2

can someone post a link to where they purchase these lanyards

also, any other tips on where to keep your tickets??

I used a lanyard with the plastic card holder on my last trip for 6 days and never had a problem with it. I kept all my fast passes and tickets in it the entire trip. I constantly touched it to make sure it was still there lol but never had a problem of it getting caught on anything or it falling off so i'm gonna use it again this year for the 8 day trip

I don't recommend you put park tickets in the pouch. Our last trip during Christmas I had 6, 8 day hoppers that I lost :scared1: on the second day. Talk about freak out. I didn't notice until we were back at our room and I was getting ready for the next day. We called but they don't answer after 5, called GAT to see if they could do anything but the answer was no. I finally made my wonderful husband drive back to DL and see if anyone turned them in. He went to guest services outside the park after telling them we lost our tickets the cast member walked away for a min. She came back and told him to meat another member at the exit. He was then taken inside the park where they asked him the #s on the tickets:confused:, he said I have no idea. Luckily he has a FP with the #. Thank goodness there was an honest person who turned them in and we go them back still inside the pouch. I will be for ever great full to the person who saved our trip.:goodvibes So I will never ever put my tickets on my lanyard again. Its just not worth the chance for me.
