Lanyards at Universal?

Since I won't need my tickets on hand to get fast passes and pay for food, will I need to carry/wear my tickets around me like we do at Disney? After we enter the park, why would we need them again?

Only if you are staying onsite then you will need the express pass, ticket, and room key. If not then do as you wish.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to stay onsite. I so wish we were! But I do have park to park tickets. I will need to show those tickets to enter the other park if I leave, correct?

Anytime you leave in or out you will need to scan your ticket and finger.

Only possible use for the ticket inside would be to enter the American Express lounge if you used the AE card to buy the ticket. Other things like a AAA card can get some discounts but not a regular day ticket.
