Lanyards and autograph books

We are leaving in 19 days and I have two questions. First, do people still wear the lanyards and buy the pins? My two children have their lanyards and pins from our 2003 trip and want to bring them. Second, I was thinking of making a list of characters that they didn't already have thier autographs in thier "2003" autograph books and keeping an eye out for those characters. It just seems like it takes forever to get autographs and pictures of EVERY character. Am I being a mean mom if I suggest that we just reuse the books instead of getting new ones and starting over? It's not a money issue since we have saved and planned a really nice vacation. We are going Feb. 24-March 4 and I am just worried about lines to see the characters. Help!

Yes and yes. It seems like there are pin kiosks everywhere, with an endless amount of choices!!! The CMs will trade with the children too if they are into pin trading. I don't think you are being "cheap" by continuing to use the autograph books and searching out the characters the kids would like to get the autograph for. When we went last year, my DD11 and DD10 had done the autograph thing the time before and were not interested in standing in the lines. I think that you can get a list at the park to see which characters are going to be at what location. If you show up a bit early you may have a minimal wait. Also, you could plan a character meal to have a few come to your table without the wait!!

My children have used the same autograph book the last few times they have been, I started it when my daughter went the first time. I just start a new page, date it, list who we went with or if it was a special occasion and then have the characters sign for that trip That way she has all the memories in one place and not spread out here and there.

Course it's easy for me, since my oldest understands why we are doing it and my DD is a bit to young still and needs help. This trip we will start a new book for Baby Jack

I think it is great to use the same book - we have two - only 'cause one day we were at MGM, and there were characters we didn't have all over the place. Our book with the majority of autographs is missing somewhere in the house.

Pins are a big thing - especially pin trading. My DD almost never comes home with any of the same pins she went with - she has a great time trading with the CMs.
