Lansky car service with Target stop

I have done it numerous times....Last time was the end of Aug...we stopped at Target....I think we went over a few minutes...but got everything we needed. I love Lansky's.....

We used Lansky's in Aug but didn't use the stop at Target since we were staying within walking distance. If you know what you want to get I think 20 min is plenty of time. Especially since you aren't doing major shopping like you would at home.

Do they have wine at Target? (silly question I'm sure) Also, what happens if we go over and are 25 minutes. We are getting lots of groceries…..

Thanks!

Be aware of what time your flight arrives - I was looking forward to the grocery stop on our September trip but our flight arrived early (6.30am) and even though it was an international flight we were out of customs etc really quickly, and it was too early for the grocery stop.

you could get a Vons delivery then stop at Target for the other items and not take as much time

did you get offered to go somewhere else? We arrive around 630am into LAX and with my son we get straight through customs and immigration but definitely need a grocery shop

Off topic but does anyone know when Lansky charges your credit card? Is it when you book or day of the ride? Thankyou

I've used Lansky's twice, the first time we stayed at the Anabella and our stop was at Von's, which was where I requested and I ASSUME they would be open early enough for a stop there if Target is closed).

The second time we stayed over off S Clementine and our stop was at Target, I requested Von's but he took us to Target, I assume bc it was closer to the hotel (there were a lot of issues with this driver, the grocery stop being the least of our issues, the other issues was his inability to install the provided car seats (which were also expired) and the lack of instructions for us to try to do it ourselves).

Anyway, if the Target is closed they should be able to provide a stop at an alternate grocery store.

We used Target and Lansky's. I will warn you, our credit card had a fit about being used out of state and wouldn't work at Target, so then DH had to come get me from the car/kids/driver to go pay with my RedCard, which thankfully did work fine. So just in case your credit cards have security measures, make sure you have at least 2 forms of payment.

I have always let my Credit Card Companies know when and where I am traveling never had a issue.

I actually just book them (thanks to the wonderful suggestions from this board) for the kiddos flight that arrives at 9:30 pm LAX. They sent me an invoice that was good for 10 days and as soon as I input the payment information it went through.

I have a questions about the tip though -- I assuming it is still customary to give the drive a tip even though the ride is prepaid -- would $20.00 for 4 passengers be appropriate? The quote said all inclusive but I think I would feel odd not tipping the drive(or telling the youngums to).

They say no stops for pick ups between 10pm - 7am. I guess schedule a little later pick up to be sure you get it. The Wal Mart on Euclid is open 24 hours.

I've never used a car service for myself for a trip that far. I usually do a little over 10% for simple short pick up/drop off with minimum of $15. So that sounds about right for what I think they charge.

Yes, my flight arrives at noon so I'm good. I called yesterday and booked it and yes I will get a stop in there as well - he totally understood my need for groceries and wine and said yep no problem. So I'm all set :)

Tip is included in the price

While the website states gratuity is included in the rate, I still tip if I find it appropriate.

Our first time using the service I tipped the driver, I think something like $20 for 5 of us (4 adults, one 2 year old). He was AWESOME (I think it was the owner, but I'm not positive). I tipped him the same both directions. Exemplary service, IMO, warrants an additional tip.

Now, for our second trip, the driver got NO extra tip because he sucked. Couldn't communicate (I kept saying I wanted Von's and we ended up at Target, couldn't communicate regarding his inability to properly install the car seats, etc. My 4 month old son's car seat was so far upright I had to hold his sleeping head back the entire drive from LAX to keep him from suffocating....at one point the driver asked "Baby okay" and I replied no, I was keeping him alive by holding his head up, and he responded with a LAUGH???) Crappy service warrants ZERO tip (and big complaint to the company, which ended up pointless bc we received the same driver for our return trip, awful!)
