Landry's Select

A few weeks ago it took almost 30 minutes for my family and I to get seated with an ADR at Yak & Yeti and I saw people come up after me with Landry's Select cards get seated earlier so I have decided I need to join the club. My issue is that by joining now, my welcome reward will not get used until March which also happens to be my birthday month. I do not plan on dining at 2 Landry's restaurants in WDW. The Landry's website clearly states "Birthday Rewards cannot be used on the same visit as a Welcome Reward" which seems to be different than old threads so I guess there has been a change somewhere. Any ideas on how to get around this?

I would have to go pretty far out of my way to find a Landry's location at home. If one of the $25 rewards goes to waste, I guess signing up is just a wash and will hopefully get me seated faster at Yak & Yeti.

Two years ago ((in march)) I was able to use both, I hear some people say they can and some people say they cannot. So ymmv on that. However why not sign up another person in your party who has a different birthday month? That way you can use the welcome on the upcoming trip and still have a reward later in the year. Or possibly you can use both at separate times in march, like yak and yeti first and then t-Rex or rainforest at Disney springs? Even take an off property dinner and hit salt grass on Vineland ave.

Yes there has been a change. Like so many good things people were trying to workthe system by always saying their birthday month was the month they were going to Disney. Like so many good things, abusing it ruined it for everyone.
So yes it would basically be a wash, but it would get you seated sooner.

You can make your birthday month any month you’d like so if you are making a second trip next year you could always make that month your birthday month. Otherwise, yes, a wash but still a big perk to get priority seating at no cost. I’ve had a Landry’s card for years and can’t even remember the last time I used my birthday reward as there are no Landry’s restaurants near us either, but priority seating at the WDW restaurants was well worth getting the card.

Thanks everyone!

The other people I am dining with all have April birthdays. Funny how our dates fall.

I will try and see if I am told no about using both rewards at once. If thats the case I will just stop at the Rainforest Cafe Gift Shop on my way out of AK and get something $25 or less like @msb578 mentioned (did not know this was an option). Better to pick something up than lose money on the table!

I just used my birthday reward in the store. I bought ds a sloth t shirt $17,99, 2 bags of sloth poop candy 2/$8 and they had s promo for your choice of a draw string nylon bag for $3.99. I spent maybe $6 oop and the kids loved the sloth poop. I asked before I shopped. We used my welcome reward at dinner. I only spent $23.31 and they still used it

Thanks for sharing! I will probably run into the gift shop on my way out of the park. An extra shirt or souvenir can't hurt!

I won't let that reward go to waste!

Absolutely. I thought about trying to do drinks at the bar or dessert to go but letting my kid pick out something I would normally say no to was great.
