I was reading about the Landry card you can sign up for that is good at T Rex and at Rainforest Café. It costs $25 to sign up for it but as soon as you sign up you get a $25 credit on your card. Then for your Birthday month you also get a $25 credit. Our trip will be in January and that is both me and hubbys birthday month. I was wondering if anyone else has done this card and if it would be worth it to sign up. I was thinking that we could each sign up for a card and then we could go a few times to eat. Even if they will only accept 1 $25 credit at a time that would be a huge chunk out of a meal for the 2 of us. I am just trying to find ways to stretch our money as much as possible but at the same time do something new and fun. :)

I did this years ago and yes, they will allow you to stack the sign up bonus with your birthday bonus. However, my husband and I have different birth months, so I don't know whether they will allow you to use both birthday and sign up bonuses on the same check. I'm thinking that you would at least need separate checks in order to do it and quite possibly do separate visits.

By the way, Yak & Yeti is also part of the Landry's family and you can use the card there, too.

We had one years ago and the main perk I got it for was priorty sitting. Do they still offer that perk?

I signed up both myself and my sister. Definitely worth it for us. We were able to use the welcome and birthday credits for the same meal.

This december we will be traveling when there will be a birthday credit, so we will get to use that $25 at TREX when we visit WDW.

Between last year and this year that means for ONE of the cards we will have paid $25 but gotten $75 in credits that we can use. Even if it is just used once in the birthday month where you can use the welcome and birthday credit it is worth it, IMO.

We like TREX and Rainforest so it works for us.

We got one last year as we live about 20 minutes from a Rainforest Cafe. My wife likes to go on her birthday so it was a win for us.

I don't see the downside at all. You get the 25 back right away. Get priority seating and get birthday credits. You also earn points for more credits.

We have one and a local restaurant in Hilton head is also landrys. (Chart house) chances are a landrys restaurant is also somewhere near you.

(Ps the birthday credit is only good for something like 30 to 45 days so you can't save your credit from June to use in December )

YES! This summer we went to Rainforest Café at AK for lunch at the last minute. There was a 30 min wait but with the Landry card we were seated right away.

We have a McCormick and Schmicks here that is also in the Landry group so have used to card there too.

We got one our last trip. We went in June, both our birthdays are in June. I got one card for myself and one card for DH. We also had Landry's giftcards as Cashback from our Discover ($45 cashback=$50 giftcard)

One day we went to Yak n Yeti and used my $25 bonus, $25 birthday and our $50 gift card...so we got $100 worth of food for $25 out of pocket. Now, we could not combine with the AP discount they offer, FYI

Another day we went to T-Rex, used DH $25 bonus, $25 birthday and our $50 gift card...so again $100 worth of food for $25 out of pocket.

We had ADRs, but we did seem to get seated very quickly. We were treated very nicely, especially at Yak N Yeti. They asked for our feedback, and when I emailed that T-Rex wasn't that great, a manager called us.

Yak n Yeti was pretty yummy and great service.
T-Rex was a disappointment. We had been there before and had a good time, but the food was just really blah...I mean, I expect about Chili's/Applebee's level and it wasn't up to that. The kids meal mac n cheese and pizza was bad, like not as good as Lean Cuisine. The kids fried chicken was okay. The steak was somewhere between Waffle House and Chili's. My chicken sandwich was probably around Applebee's level. Plus just loud and chaotic (which we knew going in).

I got the Landry card last month in anticipation of our December trip, but August also is my birthday month. We had my birthday dinner at Mortons (which is Landry owned) and was surprised when they took off both my initial sign up $25 and my birthday $25. I had assumed they would only do one of the two. Regardless, we are happy with the card and will probably renew every year, as we eat at the WDW Landry restaurants frequently. Unless I'm mistaken, I believe the new Boathouse restaurant also falls under the Landry umbrella.

I just signed up. We have an ADR at Rainforest Cafe during our Nov trip, so I put my birthday as Nov, so we will have $50 of credit to spend.

The boathouse in downtown disney is not the same as the chain the boathouse landry owns that are mainly in canada. The boathouse in downtown disney is owned by the Gibson Group out of Chicago which also own steakhouses. Confusing I know. I thought it was going to be landry for a while also.

We live near a lot of Landry's restaurants, so it is a great deal for us. Go to the Landry's website to see what other restaurants are near you, and if you think you will use the card at home as well as at Disney, I think it will be worth it.

Here is a map of all the places where the card is accepted: http://www.landrysselect.com/pdf/LSCMap.pdf

I prefer to go to the Nashville location every year in December. But my birthday is in June. So here is the questions...

1. If I put down my birthday as being in December will they check my ID for that?

2. Do you think it is very ethical to do that? I am thinking not, but if they did'nt care, I would.

1. They could check your ID. Then what would you do?
2. No, I don't think that it's ethical. But why do you care what any of us think? You make it sound like you would do it anyway if you thought that you could get away with it. You don't need anyone's approval to bend the rules. You just have to be willing to accept the consequences if you get caught.

have never been asked for proof of ID. if they ever asked I'd just say i didn't have it with me.

Just an FYI, we were there last week and used my welcome $25 and my birthday credit at the Landry Seafood Restaurant just a short distance from DTD. They have a really nice playground in front that from what I understand you can ask to be seated inside the restaurant and watch you kids play from your table. Our kids are grown so it was just DH and myself, but when reading reviews before we ate there, this was noted.

We were treated very well and the restaurant was really nice, reminded me of the type of places my parents would take us to as a special treat when we were growing up.

I was thinking about signing up for this since we'll be eating at T-REx but have a question. My idea was to sign my DD or DS up since we'll be there in Nov and that's their bday month, the thing is they'll only be four so not sure that I would be able to sign them up. Anyone know?

Bubba Gumps at Universal City Walk is also a Landry's place. I have had the card for years and love it.
