Hey there- my fiance and I have decided that we are going on a Disneymoon! :cool1: We are getting married next July and taking out Disneymoond immediately after that. We have already booked a 3 night cruise (leaves Thursday) and then Mon-Wed we will be in the parks. (we booked our land and sea parts separately) Anyway, I am beginning to wonder if 3 days in the parks is going to be enough. I have been to WDW many times but my family and I are usually there for either 7 or 10 days. I wondered if anyone who has done this short amount of time could tell me their thoughts. I am almost second guessing the cruise, but neither of us have cruised before and we are really excited.

Thanks

My opinion may be biased, but I would probably add more days to your trip. You are traveling in peak season, which means more crowds and longer lines (and lots more kids!) You want your honeymoon to be enjoyable and relaxing after the stress of a wedding, so I would add more days to the land or just do a seven night cruise.

This is what we did....we were married in June, but we waited to do 6 days at WDW and a 4 night cruise honeymoon until Oct. It allowed us some "recovery" time from the expense and stress of the the wedding. And because of our choice of HM destination, we wanted to travel in the least hot, humid and crowded time. And to be honest, you need to "plan" a trip to WDW, especially when it is peak season. If I had to plan one more thing, I was gonna scream! :scared1: Let me tell you, it was SOOOOO worth the wait. We were able to enjoy the food and wine fest at Epcot, enjoy very little lines at every attraction and we could easily walk in to nearly every restaurant we wanted with little or no wait. Perfect honeymoon! We did a short 3 night mini-moon at a bed and breakfast in Estes Park for our "immediate honeymoon", but the real one was our WDW/DCL trip.

Now for the cruise, you will LOVE it! The CMs will sing happy honeymoon to you and you will get a cake. The service is amazing and it is a true, relaxing, pampering treat! (Splurge on a cabana massage at CC!)

To each their own. Some would not dream of delaying their HM. We found it to be worth the short wait. If you go in July, I would most certainly cruise...and maybe even nix the days at the park!

Thanks for you thoughts- we really want to do our honeymoon right after our wedding, but I can understand why others would wait. We understand that the lines will be long and it will be hot, but I guess we are willing to take the chance. My family and I have been there in July, and we know what to expect. I wish that we could add more days to our trip, but my fiance can only take a week off of work, so.... I guess a couple days of Disney is more than none! :flower:

Any other opinions?

My husband and I got married in WDW so we were actually in Disney 8 days before we left on the cruise. Granted we did not spend much time enjoying Disney until after the wedding (Once the family left!). We did a 3 night land 4 night cruise honeymoon. I wished we had just taken a longer cruise. The parks are so much fun, but require a ton energy and planning if you are only going to be there for a few days. The cruise was when we actually (finally) got to relax...especially on Castaway Cay. We spent all day just lying on the adult beach, napping and sunbathing. It was HEAVEN!!! :cloud9:

I suggest staying longer at the parks, so you don't have to be "on the go" the whole time. Relax and enjoy the peace of all that wedding craziness being done!

Another thing about the cruise...it was great being honeymooners on board. They actually sat us with another newley wedded couple, a couple that were celebrating there 6 anniversary and an older couple in their 60's. All without kids. We had a lot of interesting conversation. We received "Honeymoon" buttons and a cake at our first dinner.

Have fun!!!!
