Can you do the 7 day land/sea and stay at the Boardwalk Hotel? I can't seem to find that option anywhere?

No, DCL doesn't have hotels stays available at any of the resorts that have DVC accomdations. So, you're not allowed to stay at WL, BW, BC, OKW or SSR. Any of the other WDW hotels are available. GF is only available with suite reservations on DCL, but you can pay a supplement to stay there using category 7 and above accomdations.

You can book your own "land" and "sea" and book wherever you like.

We did just that-booked separately. If you are taking DCL trans. to port I think you have to get to one of the listed resorts for pick up.
BTW, isn't BC a DVC?

Beach Club is, but Yacht Club isn't. For some odd reason, you can't use DVC points at the BC, but you can at the YC - this may be similar logic.

Did that change? I ask because the first cruise I took (Dec. 1998 Land/Sea Magic), I stayed at BWI.

The BCV is a separate building from the BC resort. You should be able to book the BC as part of the land/sea package.
