Lamps of Disney World

The website Boingboing labels itself "A Directory of Wonderful Things." It's one of the Internet's little jewels, updated several times daily with all sorts of interesting stuff, often about Disney.

Yesterday there was a post on "Lamps of Disney World."

Here's a link to the flikr page described in that post. It hosts more than 250 pictures of different lamps from Disney World (and some from other Disney parks). I like it because it helps me remember to enjoy the detail that makes WDW special. I thought others might enjoy this as well.

This is funny, because I took a picture of a lighting sconce from the ceiling of one of the Walt Disney Railroad trains. I'm so glad I'm not alone in my weirdness.

anyone who would stop to take a picture of their surroundings is the right kind of person going to WDW. So many people just rush to shows and rides without taking note of the intricate detail that exists all over the place! I've been on rides and seen the shows, so I look for the small things that people don't know about.

OMG!! This is too funny! I take pictures of all the lamps and lamp posts in WDW. My family thinks I'm crazy! I think they are works of art. I love the way they are themed.

I love the wall sconces at Jambo and Kidani....want them for my home.

It's all the wonderful details at WDW that make it so special and magical.

There used to be a QS restaurant over in the Jumpin' Jellyfish area in DCA that was surf themed.

Suspended from the ceiling were Hawaiian shirts draped over light bulbs. LOVED it!

Bwahahah, I have lots of pics of Disney light shades from all over the parks. I don't know who designs those things, but they are simply genius.
