Hi, I've never been on this board before but I thought someone here might be able to help me. I'm looking to buy a laminating machine but I don't know which are good and which are garbage. I've seen them for around $100 and that's about all I'd like to spend. Is there a good one in that price range? It'll be used mainly for my DD's artwork. Thanks :) .

Hi CEDMom,

I have a Xyron laminator. I love it! And, it definitely gets used on DD's artwork, as well as some of mine.

I have the option on mine to use different types of things instead of the laminate, i.e. to make stickers, and magnets.

I have the 12 inch size - and it is very difficult to find refills. No store around me sells the refills. I can always find them on ebay. However, if I was doing it again, I would be the next smaller size (the 850 I think) because then I could get refills at Michael's when they have 40% off coupons in the paper.

If you live near a Michaels - there waas a 40% off coupon in the paper this past Sunday.

I have the Zyron 850 and love it. I used it to make memorial bookmarks for a relative who passed. Put a rose petal on cardstock and added her favorite poem. Her husband and kids loved it.

I use it to make placemats too. Plus there is always the sticker catridges that go inside as well and that is always in there ready to go.

The only thing is the catridge that makes magnets doesnt work too well at all. but other that that I love it.
