Lalaloopsy dolls

They are predicted to be one of the hottest Christmas items for 2010.There is a thread on here about what will be hot this year.Lalaloopsy along with Monster High, Pillow Pets, Dance Star Mickey and a few other items were mentioned, and most people are already having issues finding them.I can't find lalaloopsy here in central Pa at all, and having issues with Monster high dolls too.It is going to be a rough holiday shopping season:sick:

DD had been talking about them for about a month so I decided to try to find them. After looking online and ONLY finding them on ebay or amazon for way more than I was willing to pay- I started looking around town. I found 2 of them and bought them both. That was about 2 weeks ago. This morning DD started talking about wanting one next week for her b-day. I asked her if she still wanted one from Santa and she said yes but she can't wait until Christmas and really wants one for her birthday also! Thank goodness I have 2 of them.

I am curious. Most of the people saying their DD wants one have a girl about my DD's age (8). She is into American girl and Barbie type dolls. She has seen the commercial and sometimes sings a song (I'm assuming from the commercial) and said they are cute. So far she hasn't said she wants one so I'm thinking she won't. What I'm curious about is what do they do/ plan to do with them? They look so hard and it isn't realistic so it wouldn't be like a babydoll... Please don't misunderstand, they are cute and obviously everyone has different tastes. I guess I am just wondering if they are planning to play with them or if they are intended more to be collected like figurines. I have to admit, if DD wanted one the little pink one in pj's is kind of sweet.

So weird to come across this post just now. I bought two of these earlier today because they were so cute, never even heard of them prior. Glad to know they are a "hot" item. One is for my 6 yr old niece the other for my 7 yr old daughter. Got them at Walmart in South Jersey.

I had never heard of these dolls before until seeing this thread. I popped into our Toys R Us and low and behold I see these dolls sitting on the shelf. There was a single doll in a package and then two dolls (twins?) in one package. Sorry, but they are funky looking! :) I haven't heard anyone talking about them so maybe the craze hasn't hit Ontario yet.

DD wants them because they remind her of Coraline. She will definately be playing with hers just like she would any other doll.

Ha, yes the do! When I saw them they reminded me of something that should be in Toy Story as a vintage doll. I suppose that is the whole look they are going for. Certainly different than the usual doll or baby you can find anywhere.

DD really wants one. I have been looking for them and have found several. Now I have one for her, one for each of my two nieces, and my mom found one and if we don't find another need for it she is going to give it to my younger daughter as well (I will have to look for small parts but it looks okay for daytime non-crib play in the box.)
