So the title says it all. Is the lake view at the poly worth the extra points? It seams like it would be pretty cool. I got a 3 year old and I know we won’t be in the park every night for fireworks I just thought this might be a good option.

I think some of the lake view rooms have a view of the bungalows. I'd be disappointed if I was expecting to see the lake but was actually looking at several bungalows blocking the view of the lake. Other guests have complained about the boat horn too when they've had lake views.

Personally, we booked a standard view. You can always head to the beach to watch the fireworks.

Have a great trip!

Lake View guarantees you a building, and a view that does not include parking lot.

If you have a horror of being in Pago Pago, LV is the simplest way to deal with that.

We stayed in lake view last week and I wouldn’t do it again. We were on the first floor so the view wasn’t all that great. The killer was the TTC boats. Those horns made a midday nap impossible for us. Plus on nights the MK is open late (EMH or DAH) the horns continued late into the night. I’d much rather a standard view room under the theory that if I can’t see the lake maybe I won’t hear the boats. I could be wrong about that though.

Just got back from staying in a lake view and it was incredible. We got a 3rd floor room and the view was wonderful. We watched the fireworks 3 or 4 nights and the electric water pageant was a treat as well. It’s pretty center to Cinderella castle so the fireworks look great. I thought the ferry horn would bother us more but it never did.

We are going next spring and plan on staying at poly. Glad I found this thread!!!

Ha! We went down for a cruise out of FLL and stayed the night before at the Poly (cause, hey... we had points and we wanted Ohana...) As we had all our stuff in the car and we were heading out the next morning, we actually requested Pago Pago so that it would be close for the luggage. The CM did a double take when I requested that :)

We are going in September and my youngest son is coming with us. He wants me to request Pago Pago so that he has a view of the monorail. We were looking at the various room views and he said wow you can see the monorail and I'm like dude there is also a view of a freakin parking lot. He didn't seem bothered by it. I told my husband and he also said "oh that would be an awesome view." My family is insane.

This seems fairly even. It looks like standard view is a good thing as long as you aren’t in the building looking at the parking lot (unless your kid likes to do that). I like the option of going to the beach to watch fireworks also. That is probably a pretty cool way to do it. Plus Ohana breakfast for the kids.

Did lake view once and got 3rd floor mid building. But someone has to get that first floor view so since then I've gone standard and not looked back. I ask for Tokelau upper floor and thus far have never gotten the dreaded parking lot view. But my number will be up at some point since someone has to get that, too! When it happens I prefer to think of it as a "monorail" view LOL
