Spent many happy trips to Orlando on I-Drive.

However, this year we are trying to get that bit nearer to the Disney Magic by staying in LBV.

Am familiar with the Crossroads area for TGI Fridays, McDonalds and a supermarket (Goodings??), but know nothing more.

Any tips please?:D :D

There is an excellent restaurant there called "Landreys", so good in fact we are thinking of booking this time, we are visting LBV just for this place alone LOL!!!.Theres a bennigans over the road to, also a good place to eat.
Youre relatively close to everything a good base for a holiday.

Stayed in a Day's Inn here in the early 90's, wasn't much there then but it is a great place now, with plenty of places to eat and shop and as you know, very close to Disney.

We usually stay around LBV and there's usually plenty of things to do around there..

We've stayed in the Courtyard by Marriott and the Days Inn and we are off in a week or so to the Wyndham Palace - if I can wait that long of course! :D

The main attraction is obviously Disney Marketplace - which I still call Disney Village for some unknown reason... As you mention at Crossroads there is Goodings as well as Jungle Jims and TGI''s. There is also Pirates Cove crazy golf which is pretty well done.

It's a short drive - or a long walk - up to Tony Roma' etc (Just turn right at the lights coming out of Goodings) All in all we like it there as we know our way around and it's easy to get to Disney and a quick drive to I Drive to Universal & Seaworld etc ..

Hope you enjoy it! :)

Pleased to see someone else still calls it "Disney Village", just like us................... The name Downtown Disney has never really been used in this house.

Goodings always appears that bit expensive. Does anyone recommend the next nearest supermarket - Publix perhaps?

How far away is the next - did I see a supermarket being built just north of Premium Outlets, southern end of I-Drive in 2001?

Yes there is a publix in that location, another easyone to get to is if you drive from Xroads to the 192 ( I think that's SR535 /Apopka Vineland) there is a Publix on the left of the road just before you get to the T juncion with 192.
