Sorry guys me again!

Now that we have decided on Poly I just have tones of questions lol,
I know a lot about Disney but have never stayed here,
Anyways
Our travel agent said there our a few room types standard which she said could be parking lot/pool/monorail/ etc
OR
Lagoon! I have no idea what lagoon view is meant to be and if its worth the extra $2000 odd for the 14nights,
So for anybody who has stayed here please help us decide on view.

We don't want to pay theme park view as I don't see the point really as I can see the castle etc from the beach!

We also wanted to know what building the refurbished rooms are as I much prefer the decor! And are lagoon view rooms closer to amenities?

Again sorry for all the questions it's just I'm excited as its only 90 days away :) and I want to know as much as I can, I've read and re-read many threads and sites but just can't always find the info I'm after.

Thanks again!!! X

The lowest view category at the Poly is garden, not standard. We were in the Tahiti building with a view of the grounds, facing the Rapa Nui building. It was very pretty and quiet. Requesting Tahiti or Tokelau will decrease your chances of getting one of the few parking lot views. Lagoon view is nice, but not worth the upcharge, in my opinion. You will be facing the water, but the castle will be obstructed, likely by a palm tree. Can't help you with the refurbished room question, sorry.

I'll try to help. Rooms are referred to as garden view, lagoon view, and theme park view. We have stayed in all three categories. I agree with you that the theme park view is not something I would pay the extra money for (again). Having stayed at both lagoon view and garden view, I can't really justify the extra money for lagoon view. Garden view is lovely, and after you check out the different longhouses available, choose one, request it (it's just a request, not a guarantee but they will honor requests often) and you may get a nice view of the lovely landscaped grounds or one of the pools. Check out this site-this guy has fantastic information:

To the best of my knowledge, most of the refurbishing of rooms is just about complete. As far as being close to the amenities, the refurbished areas have nothing to do with that. The buildings that are closest to the main areas of the resort are also listed in tikiman's website. There is a map of the resort. My personal favorites are Raratonga and Samoa. Samoa overlooks both pools, and Raratonga is right next to the Great Ceremonial House.

Congrats on choosing Poly! You will LOVE it!!
