Ladies - what's your park style?

Yeah, that's always the challenge.... I am always on the lookout for cute shoes that are actually comfortable (not just for DL, but for chasing my kids around). They are out there, but you really have to look!
Between the heat, sunblock and being on my feet all day, wearing light, non complicated, comfortable clothing takes precedence for me. I can think of very few instances where I'd get all dolled up for Disney.

I'm a local, and I wear the same things to the park as I wear all the time. That's Birkenstocks or boots, a dress, and then layers depending on the weather (light weight scarf, cardigan, hoodie, etc.) I also wear a brimmed hat almost every day, whether I'm in the park or not.

I think the difference is that, for a local, our everyday wardrobe is already calibrated for a day spent out and about in Southern California. Everything I wear is already suited for the sun, big changes in temperature, and walking outside all day. I compare this to when I lived in Chicago and Philadelphia and it was normal for me to only be outside when I was commuting. There, I didn't think a lot about how my clothes fared in the weather -- it was either winter, and I threw a big coat on, or it was summer, and I was trying to wear as little as possible and be outside as little as possible. But in LA, people spend more of their day outside, all year long, so our regular wardrobes are adapted for it. Who needs sportier clothes for being outside at Disneyland when we already spend all day walking around outside anyway?

As for wearing Disney stuff -- I don't really know! Maybe it has something to do with having more money to spend on merch in the parks since as locals we don't have to pay for airfare? FWIW I will also say that I see wayyyy more people walking around Los Angeles with Disney hats, shirts, scarves, sandals, bags, etc. than I ever have anywhere else. So possibly that's just a regional thing, too?

I love this thread!

My park style is all about comfort. I usually wear my UGG boots, black jeggings, and a nice flowy top that will hide my churro and ice-cream belly! :) Some days I might wear running-type leggings and running shoes. All about what the weather is like. I take a shower at night and just put my hair in a loose braid so it dries wavy. Usually do makeup, but nothing too fancy. I can get ready in about 15 minutes (hair, makeup, clothes), throw on my Minnie ears and head for rope-drop! :)

I always see people wearing Old Navy style flip flops and cringe! My legs would be killing me if I wore those all day!

Great thread! We're going in August and I'm thinking comfy dresses and capris/shorts with tees and tanks, and a light sweater or jacket for morning/night. The last two times we've been it's been unseasonably cold and we've had to really bundle up, so I'm excited to not worry about that this time!

I'm either in flip flops or tennis shoes, capris or jeans, a tank or t-shirt, with a sweatshirt on or tied around my waist. I like to wear a cross body purse. And Ears, I am usually in Ears or some sort of Disney hat.

Based on the pics I've been seeing in the DL trip reports I've been reading, I agree with the PP who said they notice a lot more ears at DL than at WDW. Seems to be DL visitors are more in the spirit of things.

^^^ That begs the question - do the ears stay on during the rides? Do you use bobby pins or some other secret to keeping them on or do you take them off for the faster rides?

I made the mistake of forgetting to take off the headband style of ears on Splash Mountain. They flew off my head went into the way back of the boat (I was seated in the second row). I felt so bad and was hoping it didn't smack anyone. I always take them off during rides now then put them back on after.

I always wear sneakers and denim jeans/shorts/capris and a Disney tee of some sort. Have a jacket/sweatshirt for the cooler hours. No makeup, just lip gloss with a bit of sunblock in it. Last year at WDW, I wore my hair in a ponytail or bun every day, but that was due to the humidity. At DL, I'll sometimes wear my hair down. If I have a headband or ear hat, it goes off for some but not all the rides. Don't want to risk losing it!

I dress for comfort. If it's warm, it is shorts/capris and a tank and a sweater and yoga pants in cooler weather.

We almost always go in July. So I wear shorts- never jeans and a nice top. I don't like t-shirts with pics and advertising all over them unless it's a Disney picture. I picked up a few for a good price at Khol's last year. Mostly wear tennis shoes (Asics) but used to wear cute comfortable Crocs flats before I had arch issues. Now I'm on the look out for a good cute flat shoe with arch support that's comfortable for walking in. I wear a thin sweater in the mornings because it's usually chilly and pull it out again in the chilly evenings. I always fix my hair and make up. But then my hair is just straight and doesn't do much anyway. Doesn't matter if it is humid or dry, it is the same. (Although at WDW I'm not sure how long my make up actually lasted but I tried) In the winter I wear jeans and may or may not bring a coat or sweatshirt depending on the day. I recently got a puffy coat which smashes up small and would be a great park coat.

I've not done DL yet, but plan on wearing the same. I always wear dresses & comfy sandals, usually fit flops. I like to dress up rather than just shorts & vests as I wear a uniform all year round at work of combat pants & steel toe capped boots, so I want to feel like I'm on holiday!

I like "cute but comfortable" - a cute Disney-inspired top, comfortable sandals or sneakers, and comfortable skirts or leggings. Sometimes I wear jean shorts but I'm really not a huge fan of shorts to begin with so....I always wear makeup but I wear makeup every day, and I wear the jewelry I wear every day. This is actually going to be the first year I'll have to deal with my hair because it's been short for the majority of the past decade, but I'll just pull it up into a ponytail or (depending on length) a braid and go from there.

Comfort! Definitely. I dress for the weather ..so if it is hotter i'll wear a tank or a light t-shirt with shorts. If it is cooler ... still possibly shorts and a sweatshirt or my lulus and a sweatshirt. I definitely don't look like I just rolled out of bed lol.. but I def don't look like i'm trying to make a fashion statement either! As far as make up goes... i don't usually wear makeup in general so not to different at the parks either. Usually some mascara and some lip gloss and I am all set! :) As for shoes... I've tried going for style and that didn't work so much so in this department i am all for comfort. I LOVE my neon pink and chartreuse asics! My feet are always pleased with that decision!

We are locals/passholders that go 4-8 times a year with 1-2 weekend stays. We aren't exactly the crowd that goes after work (live in LA area) but going regularly may affect what we wear. I don't have to go on all rides and not be dressed for a full day at the park. If it's too hot or cold, we just leave

That being said, I tend to dress how I normally dress but with practical shoes. I'm not a tshirt and shorts type of person. I prefer maxi skirts/dresses. (Long because shorter dresses will not work when getting in and out of boat rides!) I'll wear jeans and a nice blouse/scarf on cooler days paired with comfy but nice boots. I don't wear flip flops or sneakers. I do invest in high quality sandals specifically made for both style and comfort. I'm also a mom of two, so I still go for nice but practical.

Thank you (!!) for being considerate about taking off your hat/ears on rides. I got hit by someone's baseball cap on Screamin' and it blacked my eye. A very painful way to end a day in the parks. When the safety spiel says to please remove hats and glasses, please do so for the safety of the guests behind you. (People have no idea how much it hurts getting hit by a flying projectile on a ride!) After my experience, I make sure to remove my hat on rides so I don't hit someone else.

Ouch!!

The one time I left it on was the time it flew off, go figure. Sometimes I forget I'm wearing them but always check now! :)

Oh my goodness! The last time I was on ToT I was hit by someone's baseball cap in the face as well! It's the worst, sorry that happened to you!

If the weather is summer like, I wear shorts or capris with a tank top. I may carry a light sweater in the event it gets cool. My Sanuk sling back sandals are a must.

In the fall/early spring, I wear jeans or my running leggings (so comfy) with a t shirt and sweatshirt for mornings and nights. My Bobs or Sketcher Go Runs on my feet.

I will usually put my hair up in a simply pony or clip the front to the sides. I will put minimal make up- foundation that has SPF, mascara, sometimes eyeliner if I actually have (which is never with 2 small kids), and ALWAYS a lip color. Even if I wear no make up, I have to have a gloss or lip color. I always have a backpack as well.

I can't live without sunglasses so that's also a must. I would love to Disney Bound and do Dapper once so that's a bucket list to-do.

To add, I'm a mother of 2 in my early 30's.
