OK ladies, do you carry press powder and a tube of lipstick in your carry on?

What is press powder? :confused3 No, I don't carry lipstick ~ I don't wear lipstick. :lmao:

In my carry on I have ~
Travel documents (hotel reservations/car/etc)
Purse (with ID and $$)
Contact case/solution/glasses
Meds
Ipod
Magazines
Pajamas
Swimsuit (if needed)
Outfit for next day

If you don't use lipstick I guess you don't use press powder...you know like powder your nose...hehehe.

Ahh! We call that pressed powder! No wonder I was confused. :rotfl:

My carry on now is basically a 5 year olds amusement center. Lots of kids books, colouring books, crayons, snacks, kleenex, Nintendo DS and games, dvd player and movies, sunscreen, etc... I do have a few grown up things --- camera, medication, travel docs, airline tickets, hotel and car rental confirmations, and gum for take offs and landings.

A little bit different than our BC (before children) travels but our DS is a great flyer as long as we have some things to keep him occupied. All makeup winds up being checked through in our baggage.

I have liquid makeup and loose powder. Liquid is in my qt bag, along with mascara, moisturizer, eye cream & cleanser. My lipstick is in my purse since it's not a gel or gloss. I also have couple days change of clothes and pjs. I do this even if I check a bag. Meds and anything of value also in my purse.

I don't wear lipstick ever, but my makeup all goes in my checked luggage. The only personal care items in my carry on are a travel size brush/mirror, lotion and carmex or lip gloss.

I don't wear pressed powder or lipstick.

As a rule, with only a few exceptions, I don't check luggage so my carry-on has everything in it - toiletries, make-up, clothes, duplicate travel documents, medications, etc. I also have a medium size purse where I keep my wallet and camera, Kindle, etc.

As far as makeup goes, I just carry a tinted lip balm with me. But I carry a lot of other stuff on==

Meds
Kleenex
MP3 Player and earbuds
Trashy magazine. I only buy them when traveling as a treat.:)
Snacks
All travel and reservation info.
Small sunblock and eyedrops in by 311 bag.
Change of clothes, just in case the airline decides my luggage needs a vacation of its own.

Like a PP said, what goes in the carry on is different now that we have kids! For our upcoming trip in October I am planning on putting the following in my carry on:

swimsuits for all 4 of us
change of clothes for the next day
toothbrushes & toothpaste for all 4 of us
my facial cleanser
DS's body wash (he has sensitive skin!)
moisturizer for my face
eyeliner
mascara
small sunscreen
pressed powder

I will also include things to keep the kids occupied during the flight - coloring books, DS, a few new items, and some snacks.

My carryon has....
change of clothes
swim suit (if heading to WDW)
medications
book
laptop, cell phone, camera, chargers, iPod, earbuds
itineraries
facial cleaner pads
deoderant
toothbrush
makeup...don't use liquids or gels so not an issue

my 3-1-1 baggie has....
chapstick
sunscreen
hand sanitizer
hand cream
toothpaste

Cell phone, ear buds and charger
Kleenex

I'm with you! Travel light! I can't believe the stuff people carry-on! I guess I like to live on the edge...If my bag is delayed, I'll deal with it. I'd rather not carry everything but the kitchen sink!

I do carry-on only. Two family members have had checked bags misdirected on European trips, one on British Air and one on Aer Lingus - both for over a month, both for the entire trip, so I prefer to have all my stuff with me. I'm a pretty light packer, so I can make do with a carry-on and personal item for at least 2 weeks.

I can fit a lot in my tote bag (L 15" x W 9" x H 13.5 ") and I have given it a lot---possibly too much--- thought. Here goes:
In carry-on tote bag:
folder with travel documents
wallet
cell phone
iPod nano and earbuds
little package of tissues
benadryl---I have very bad allergies
inhaler (see above)
prescription medications
glasses/sunglasses
book
pen
comb/brush
cosmetics and toiletries that are solid such as:
solid anti-perspirant
Body Shop powdered bronze face powder or Benefit Coralista powder
Indian coconut nectar solid perfume by Pacifica
Boots' lip balm
a very portable and extremely lightweight J. Crew linen sweater in case the plane gets cold
in a smaller plastic bag within carry-on tote style handbag. The plastic bag will be saved and used again at the end of the trip to carry a wet bathing suit.:

easy linen shorts by J.Jill because they are comfortable and fold up to take up almost no room
T-shirt The Old Navy Ts cotton blends don't wrinkle too much.
or
lightweight cotton sundress or T-shirt dress (Land's End make some very portable dresses.)
bra
panties
very lightweight cotton nightgown or sleep T (Land's End also does a good job with sleep Ts.)

In a ziploc for liquid toiletries:
Benefit You Rebel tinted liquid moisturizer SPF 15 (moisturizer and sunscreen in one) (1.5 oz)
Benefit creaseless cream eye shadow in venetian brown
Clinique waterproof mascara
Mario Badescu bee pollen night cream (1 oz)
Tropical vanilla body moisturizer by Scentsational of Huntington (3 oz.)
Walgreen's 30 SPF sunscreen (3 oz.) It is the only sunscreen I can find in a 3 oz. tube and, at 2/$5, you can't beat the price.
Body Shop travel size rain forest radiance shampoo/conditioner
(2 oz. each)
Body Shop Vitamin E facial exfoliating cream cleanser (2.5 oz)
mini tube of toothpaste
If all this exceeds the capacity of the ziploc---which it usually doesn't---I infringe on DH's rationed toiletry ziploc since all he uses is anti-perspirant, Ivory soap, toothpaste and Afrin. In general, I am on the lookout for cosmetics and toiletries that comply with the TSA standards and am surprised that more companies aren't manufacturing such items in smaller sizes.

No powder. No lipstick, but usually either a balm or lip gloss or both. They've never confiscated my lipgloss...although technically it should be in the baggie.

Most of the packing is my reader, my Ipod touch, my camera, my phone, chargers for all that, memory cards, the stand to put the Ipod on so I can watch it on the plane, soon I will have a netbook so add that and its charger, a router for wireless in the room, earphones, plenty of tee shirts. I can get by with one or two pairs of pants unless I'm going for a week or more.

I carry solid shampoo, solid conditioner solid face cleanser and solid deodorant...none of that needs to go in the baggie.

My list will be long!

Carry on suitcase:
3 swimsuits
1 pair of flip flops
1 pair of dress shoes
At least 3 different outfits including underwear
Vitamins
Childrens cold medicine
Benadryl
Throat lozenges
Daily schedule/itinerary that lists which park we're at, the hours, our ADRs, parade and show times, where the characters are located, our RideMax plans, etc.
Autograph books
DVDs
DVD player (will take out for my nephew to watch movies on during the flight and then he carries it in its case off the plane)
Night light
Kids' stuffed animals
