Ladies - what do you wear to the parks?

I wear skirts at wdw, usually shortish pleated denim ones...i don't ever wear shorts. you could always wear a pair of swimming shorts underneath your skirt....i do...then you dont have to worry *as much*

I'm pretty self concious about my thighs and hate the whole riding up thing! My husband had me buy a tennis skirt to play in and it is so comfortable and I wear it everywhere! I love it! It's very cute and lightweight! It's white and pleated and you'd never know that it has those built in sports shorts/trunks (I'm not sure what the proper name is lol) underneath. The most recent tennis skirt I'd seen at Dunham's was green with a pink trim!

Those sports stores have a wide variety of skirts, shorts, and tank tops that are lightweight, breathable, and fashionable/cute :)

Denim shorts and a tank top all the way for me::yes:: . I need to feel comfy and that is my comfy clothes for summer:goodvibes

just got back this morning from our first trip!!

i bought a few tennis skorts from walmart and found them to be the most comfortable thing i wore. they look like lightweight skirts and came in a variety of colors. they had a little elastic in the back of the waist and the attached shorts underneath were like stretchy bicycle shorts. so there was no rubbing or worry or being exposed. i only had two pairs, but i'm thinking of buying a few more to wear throughout the summer. they were $10-12 or so.

We always go in the summer, so my usual choice of clothing is knee length shorts and strappy tank tops. I bought some new ones with the built in shelf bra to add to similar ones I already had. (Got mine at Express, but Victoria's Secret has lots of bra tops on their website too.)

For evening dinners, I usually wear a skirt and tank top or a cute dress and ALWAYS with bike shorts underneath. (I'm a heavy sweater which can lead to bad chafing so the biker shorts are key.)

As for my feet - comfy sandals all the way. I have some Keens, Eccos, and got a pair of Eastern Mountains that are super cushiony but cute enough to wear with skirts.

I can't wait to go!

OKay... so i'm going to WDW shortly, and i need clothes that are Cute (MUST!) Comforable in the heat :sunny: , and for riding rides and cheep, that way i don't have to break the bank. Where can i get clothes like these? any suggestions?

:cool1:
I know I am going to gross 90% of you out, but I wear men's bathing trunks and a bikini top. I also wear a cotton light colored mens tank(the pits are scooped lower) over the top of the bikini top.
When we go, its August, and I have to be cool--actually the whole family (2 girls and two boys) dresses this way. Minus the bikini top for the boys;)
I found some very soft bathing suits that are are not too long. They look like regular shorts.
Then I can get as wet as I want, but dry off quickly without squishy underwear.
I wear Mion sandals that are like a tennis shoe--no wet socks or tennis shoes for me.

I always wear skirts (religious belief) and I have never had a problem with modesty at DW. Must be cause I wear them all the time? :confused3 Anyway, there is a product put out by monistat that is used for chafing or shaving burns. I got mine pretty inexpensive at Target. My daughter uses it for underarm irritation and me for the pear shaped problem :rotfl2: and mine son uses it too for his thighs.

I think the riding up of shorts is a bigger-thigh issue. I never had that when I was skinnier, but hate wearing shorts now because I feel I am always tugging them down. So linen and cotton capris are my favorites. Tank tops, loose fitting tees, etc.

I am going in December this trip, so I am going to start a discussion about that time iof year...

SO that's my problem! I thought it was that they were making shorts badly nowadays!

I plan to wear capri pants, tanks and maybe shorts & a tee. Also sundresses maybe for dinners.

Okay, I must be missing something. People are wearing skirts, but then adding another layer underneath (bike shorts, which are usually pretty tight on your legs).

Wouldn't that make you hotter than just wearing one layer (regular shorts)?

Yeah, I agree - I don't get this either...:confused3
But then again, you practically have to put a gun to my head to get me to wear a dress, so maybe I'm not the expert here ;).

Can't speak for others, but in my case, being heavy (or Pooh-sized as the Boards have taught me), I could NEVER wear a skirt without bike shorts underneath. Too much chafing. Also, would never dream of wearing bike shorts alone, because it's not a pretty picture. :) Problem with some other shorts is when you walk the material at your inner thighs begins to creep up your thighs while the material on the outside stays lower. Kind of looks like this: |/\| Again, not a pretty picture and then I spend the whole day picking at my shorts. (Even worse picture).

I guess I must explain....even as one who is not "pooh-sized", I've always been , well, let's say 'ample' in the inner thigh area. Therefore, if I want to ever wear a cute skirt or dress, I have to make sure to prevent the chafing. I've tried the monistat anti-chafing stuff, but unfortunately, I just sweat it off. So that is not an option. And if you get bike shorts in the right kind of material, they're actually not any hotter to wear.

Jeans if it's chilly, but usually shorts or a denim skirt.
I usually always wear a short-sleeved top, but make sure to bring a sweater along just in case.

Does anyone have a picture of these as I cant imagine them in my mind but they sound ideal.

I am not sure they make them here in Spain but if I can visualise them prehaps I can find some one ebay or online.
TIA

If my legs were longer (they are so short!:worried: ), I would wear a culotte-like skirt in a second. Since it will be very hot here at home this weekend - 96 degrees tomorrow and up to 99 by Monday!!!! :furious: - I will be getting a bit of a trial run!

Above the knee gauzy peasant skirt
Champion exercise shorts (like bike shorts, but very light weight)
Tissue weight t-shirt
Ecco neoprene sandals
