Ladies - what do you wear to the parks?

I saw if you like shorts but hate the tugging, get bermuda shorts! I always get these in a nice, comfortable fabric (they are rarely in denim material) and I never have to worry about my shorts rising and I'm always comfortable.:goodvibes

I wore a few skirts my last summer trip and plan to wear more my next trip. I just felt more comfortable those day and a lot less hot. I have two ways of dealing with the thighs rubbing together issue, first I have some legging shorts (they end above my knee) that I wore last year under the skirts or if I want to go sans shorts I found if I put deodorant on my thighs, it keeps them from rubbing for most of the day. :rotfl:

I wear nicer gym shorts and tank tops.
Comfort is tops with me.
I would wear a dress/skirt in evenings, though.

yupp yupp yupp couldn't of said it better myself.... thanks for posting so i wouldn't have to post :rotfl:

I have several different styles of khaki shorts and colorful tanks, and a dress planned for one nite's dinner, plus a pair or two of capris just depending on my mood. DD has a lot of the Soffe shorts and fun t-shirts. I can't wear dresses all day long, I'd be too scared that DS (2) riding on my hip would ride my dress up and it would be too late by the time I realized it!!

We are going in August and I just bought linen shorts to go with simple tank tops. I thought about wearing skirts/dresses but decided against them, I feel like with shorts I can just jump on/off board on the rides without worrying about my skirt staying in place.

Being Pooh sized - well, let's not kid ourselves there - being Eeyore sized, the most comfortable things I have found are big t-shirts and walking shorts (i.e., shorts that go down about the knee). Capri's are a little too long and pants are just miserable. And because I'm short and stout, I have yet to find a skirt that looks decent on me.

I prefer to wear capris. Not as comfortable in shorts as I used to be.

FOr the warmer weather I stick with capris and shorts with tank tops and t-shirts. Its all about being comfortable for me. :goodvibes

skorts with a tank top, sneakers, visor, sunglasses, tiny shoulder bag

in cooler weather, jeans, t-shirt, sweatshirt, sneakers, tiny shoulder bag

and in milder, "in-between" weather: capris, t-shirt or tank, sneakers, tiny shoulder bag

I make a simple A-line type dress (Disney print of course). The dress hits just below my knees. I wear these w/ bike shorts underneath.

Even though I live in the same climate as WDW, I am a big whimp when it comes to the summer heat.

Millie-

Thanks for the tip! I'll have to check them out. We're going to be out and about today doing some shopping & I'll see if I can't find a pair to give them a try before getting online. Thanks!!! :)

Susan

You bet! :thumbsup2 Hope you find what your looking for. If you shop Zappos.com for shoes you get shipping for free and returns if you can't find the shoes in the stores. You'll pay more for the shoes, but it might be worth it to try them. If you have a REI store near you can order the discounted shoes and have them shipped to the store for free, you can try them on there, and then return them there also if you don't like them. That's what I ended up doing, once they come in I'll get to try them on there and return them if I don't like them. I have a good feeling that I'll end up loving them, and want to order more! :hyper:

Thank you all for your replies! I hadn't thought of the harness fastening between my legs - I will definitely be wearing Bermuda shorts; hopefully I can find some quick drying tops that will match the shorts I have!

I vary my wardrobe...I do enjoy bermudas because they don't ride up when you are walking around in 90 degree heat/100% humidity! But, I haven't found plain khaki colored ones that I love because I can mix and match them better. So I grin and bear it with the regular old khaki shorts for a couple of days. At night, I wear black gouchos or a denim/khaki skirt (again you can mix and match them). I wear sneakers during the day (strickly for comfort) and Crocs Capris at night (give my feet a chance to breathe).

I change my wardrobe on Animal Kingdom day. 1) I wear Crocs all day because we tend to ride Kali several times and nothing is worse than wet sneakers and 2) I wear darker colored shorts...because come to think about it...there is something worse than wet sneakers: khaki shorts that become see-through when they get wet on Kali!!!

I like to wear tank tops and gym shorts when I'm at a park. They are lighter and cooler than heavy shorts.

My question is, what do you wear underneath? Do you wear sports bras? I really don't want to wear my good Victorias Secret bras and get them drenched in sweat!

I don't see how a "nice Victoria's Secret" bra could be ruined by sweat. They are designed to be next to our bodies. I wear my usual bras and no problem!

I would stick with the capri and tank idea. I think I would be self concoius about getting in and out of rides with a skirt/dress. Like space mountian for example. I dont think I want to lift my legs that much and risk it. But you have to be comfortable.

I had the same thought. All my bras are good bras and I wear them even when I expect to sweat. Now if your talking items that qualify as boudoir only type garments...well, then of course those aren't meant to be worn anywhere else. But to me...all bras wash and wear the same.

I usually just wear shorts (jean shorts usually) and tank tops. I HAVE to be comfortable/cool at the parks. A dress I think would be too much work but if you feel comfortable with it, go for it!! :)

Have a great trip!

i wear terry cloth shorts and a tube top and then a bathing suit underneath..always with a halter top style. i live in my bathing suit in the summer so its very comfortable to me...at night i wear lightweight little sundresses and for shoes i usually in the day wear the slip on sketchers sneakers and at night just slip on sandels ...this is for the humid august weather so its the best i can do for that hot sticky sun/rain:rotfl2:
