Last January DH treated me to the Peppermint Pedicure - something I had always been dying to try, but never did.

Oh. My. Gosh.

I was hooked...plus the pedi stayed gorgeous and shiny for about 6 weeks. And I've had another few since at a spa up here, but not the same.

So I made an appointment for our upcoming trip (so excited!) but now I am pondering adding a manicure appt too. The Member site lists the pedi and mani separate with the 20% discount, but not the 80 minute combo. I forgot to ask if we get a discount on it, but the regular cost is $110, and booking the two separately with DVC discount is $96 for 10 more minutes each.

So of course now I'm considering that too...

Anyone every do the mani here? Is it wonderful? Does it last? Any stories and experiences are most welcome!

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED  the manicure!!! I highly recommend it. It's so relaxing with the massage on your arms! Probably the only time I ever could fall asleep sitting up! :rotfl2:

You know what....you're right. If it's anything like the pedicure I must have it. :goodvibes

Thanks!!!

ENJOY!!!:yay:

Going to the spa is my Christmas gift this year. Well, that and the trip itself! Every time I've gone I have enjoyed all the treatments. It's so relaxing.

I have been going to that spa when it was still the Disney Institute and I always go for the fascial....it's as relaxing as a massage, but your face feels wonderful afterwards. I have had the manicure also, however, I prefer the fascial to anything!!! Have fun.

I have had the manicure several times and it seems to last for a couple of weeks. My last pedicure lasted about 6 weeks also and looked great the entire time. All the treatments I've had at SSR were wonderful.

WOW!! 6 weeks!!! I can't get over that- mine at home last 2 weeks if I'm lucky. I will be adding that mani/pedi to my next ssr spa excursion for sure!:thumbsup2 This last time I had Mystical Therapies- it was very relaxing, I'd definitely repeat the experience.

Ha - I had a manicure and pedicure there once when I was 6 weeks PG (it's all I was allowed to have) and they were both nice however, my manicure did not last long at all. It may have had something to do with the fact that several hours later I was fixing my friends car. :)

I have had the Mystical Forest Therapies reflexology/massage combo which was VERY nice and I had the Motherhood Massage when I was 6 months PG - it was so nice to lay on my belly comfortably! The reflexology was the BEST I would love to just have that and I would also love to try the hydrotherapy.

I've had the manicure and yes, it did last.

I've also done most of their other treatments/ massages and have been happy with every single one. The only one I don't recommend is the shiatsu because I could barely move for 24 hours after that due to feeling so limp and relaxed. :lmao:

The Mystical Forest treatment was my favorite.

I am wondering about the treatments, other than massages.....I'm kind of shy :confused3 AND I am a breast cancer survivor with permanent implants, and right arm restrictions, I also have bad varicous (sp?) veins in my right leg, so here at home (before the b.c.) whenever I had a massage they'd stay away from my right leg. Now I'm thinking with the right arm restrictions, and the chest muscle thing maybe I should steer clear of the massages, but I'd like to try some sort of relaxing treatment (outside of the mani and the pedi) - any ideas? I guess I'd do a facial - but with my sensitive skin - which I take very good care of with a popular line (not sold in stores....), I'm worried that I'd have a funky reaction?:confused3
I guess I'm not leaving many options, but that's why I'm asking if anyone knows of something else I might enjoy?

TIA

I do know for a fact that you are asked several questions prior to your treatment and have to fill out a form. If you explain your concerns at check in, I don't see why you could not enjoy a nice light sweedish massage staying away from the leg and any other area you're not comfortable with. I always ask them to stay away from the middle of my back and knees and they are very understanding. Call them ahead of time and discuss it before making your trip. http://www.relaxedyet.com/
there's the link so you can pick your location and make that call. Enjoy!!!

DeeCee, reflexology is done on your feet and it's very relaxing.

Here in NY when we learned how to do Shiatsu it's done with the client fully clothed in comfortable clothing so maybe that one would be better for you. There is a lot of range of motion done in shiatsu but the Licensed Massage Therapist could easily adjust the routine to accomodate your limited ROM. Call the Spa and tell them your concerns. I'm sure they will be able to adjust any therapy for you.

I'm in school to become a Licensed Massage Therapist and we do range of motion with your arms and legs during swedish massage also. The massage therapist should be going slow and feeling for resistance. It's never forced so I wouldn't worry about it. I have a client with limited ROM in one arm and I can still work that arm I just don't move it as far as someone with more mobility. As long as you let them know your limitation and concerns everything will be fine.
