Ladies-Make up?

It seems that Bare Ess. is pretty popular (Although I have never heard of it-LOL) I wonder if you can get the mineral foundation at stores like Walmart etc. If not I will have to go for the Bare Esst. Where do most of you order that from?

You can buy BE at sephora.com

they have a nice "starter set" you can try...
and if you dont' like it - they take returns too. I know my mom bought this...kept it for a few weeks...didn't like it...and they took the return no problem.

I use Bare Escentuals and any of the other mineral brands--i.e., Sheer Cover. If you have an Ulta store near you, they carry it. I also saw that Physcian's Formula is now carrying a mineral makeup. I haven't tried it but they are definitely a lower-cost brand. My Target carries Physician's Formula but does not carry the mineral make up line. It appears it can only be purchased at Ulta so far.

Bare Minerals. It doesn't have that heavy itchy feeling I get when I wear liquid foundation.

My favorite is Neutrogena Healthy Skin makeup. It's got Pro-Retinol in it, but isn't drying at all. Medium coverage. I have a hard time finding foundation light enough for my ultra-pale skin, but their Ivory is a perfect match. :)

I also really like L'Oreal Ideal Balance.

(And to the person who said the red topped L'Oreal stay-on stuff is bad.... you're right! It's called Wear Infinite or something.... definitely avoid it!)

I use Bare Minerals for everyday and then smashbox converstion creame to power foundation when I need a lot of coverage.

Sorry to get a bit off topic but I have a question for those of you who use Bare Escentuals. I just started using it and got a starter kit with the brush, mineral veil, foundation and warmth. I really like it and it covers as well as my old liquid stuff. My question is about the shine. I am paranoid about having a shiny face because of my oily skin and I can't seem to get the shine down. I have been using my Cover Girl pressed powder which sort of defeats the purpose. Any tips?

I'm a new Bare Escentuals convert! There was a thread about it on here a while back and it got me curious. I asked for the starter kit for Christmas...I will never use liquid again! I LOVE this stuff!! The kit I bought is the one that comes with the 2 foundations, mineral veil, brushes, warmth, and the skin rev'r upper. That little pot of warmth minerals...it's like the swiss army knife of cosmetics! It just so happens to work with my skin tone enough that I can use it as blush. I also use it as eyeshadow and I can dip my Buzz Latte (BE Lip Balm) in it to create a lipstick! It is a little on the pricey side...but you use so little of it that it's worth it.

Susan...I wish I could answer your question, but I've got insanely dry skin...I would be of no help at all when it comes to shiny skin. :( Hope someone here has the answer!!

Ok I have more questions  about Bare Escentuals .

Now you use a brush to apply this to your face?
Without using a liquid foundation and a powder (which i am currently doing) this takes the place of both?
Does it cover up any acne or red marks on your face like liquid foundation can sometimes do?
How big or how long does the jar last?

What is the difference between bareminerals foundations and the Minerl Veil?

Susan,

Try putting on some Mineral Veil UNDERNEATH your foundation and then again as a finish. That always helps me :)

I llloooovvvvvveeeeeee  BE!!! Been using it for about 1 year. Nothing else makes me look or feel the way that BE does. And it lasts FOREVER :thumbsup2 . I have converted both my DD's and several friends to BE.

Depends on the coverage youre looking for.

I personally *LOVE* Revlon's Color Stay - when I want a heavier coverage.... I use it right out the bottle. When I want a lighter coverage, I mix with facial moisterizer.

And also, let me add - it does STAY. I wore it all those weekends in the Florida heat at Disney World, and it stays on. Its good stuff. :thumbsup2

Oh, and dont get the L'oreal comparable one - with the red top. I was so ticked I even tried it. Complete garbage. pirate:

This is my favorite too...but they reformulated it! It is lighter now, but does not cover it all when I need it.

Ladies go to www.makeupalley.com it is a great site I got the link from someone at dis. I like BE I got my starter kit on ebay, but Neuetrogena just came out with a mineral foundation I am going to it a try if I can find it. I will buy it at CVS or Osco's so if I don't like I will return it.

Oh...I'm such an addict at that site....I LOVE IT. My second addiction after the dis.

I also love Bare Escentuals, and highly recommend the Bisque if you need a little more spot coverage. I put it on with the concealer brush and some days that's all I do.

Let me see if I can answer these:

yes, you use a brush to apply your foundation.

You put mineral veil on after you have applied your makeup to finish it off, this would take place of your powder.

Yes it will cover up red marks on your face. BE also has an mineral called bisque that is good to use as a concealer for undereyes and any marks you need more coverage on.

QVC sells a 9 gram jar, which I think lasts about 90 days.

The difference between foundation and mineral veil, is mv is your finishing powder.

I have been using it for several years, and love it. I usually order from QVC, sometimes ebay, but you have to make sure what you are paying for. I just prefer QVC, I know when I'll definately get it. Or, order the starter kit from bare escentuals.

I totally agree...it's called Infallible, which it most definitely is not!
