Ladies, let's talk deodorant

I use Dove Unscented.

I used to buy Secret Unscented, but it quit working for me.

I can't use any of the scented stuff as I break out in itchy red rashes.

OK, not to change topics, but does anyone else have a complaint about their kid's feet? My DD9 takes off her shoes in the car and we all yell "PUT YOUR SHOES BACK ON NOW" -- she gets embarassed and we about pass out.

that's a fungus that makes them smell like that. About the only way to get rid of that is to soak her feet and shoes in Cider Vinegar. Of course then they'll smell like vinegar Something else that works is D.E. (diatomaceous earth sp) it's completely natural and kills the odors and bacteria of EVERYTHING!! It even works in my chicken coop!!

As far as deoderants, does everyone use Anti Persperants now?? I only use the crystal deoderant stick and it works wonders. Of course it doesn't keep you from sweating, it just keeps you from smelling bad. I've always believed that your body sweats for a reason and blocking the glands with a shellac like substance just can't be good for your body And no, I'm not a stinking hippy

I CVS, so I use whatever brand I can get for free. I agree about your body building up immunity though, I used to used SoftnDri with good results but now it doesn't work for me. Right now I am using Secret Flawless and I really like it. Swtiching brands every stick seems to help me and the budget!

My nephew's feet could just about knock you out, too. My sister has him soak his feet in brewed tea and that takes care of it.

I was quite surprised when I took the time to look at the ingredients on antipersp/deods one day that there is a considerable difference in the amount of the active ingredient between brands.

Lady Mitchum has the highest amount of ingredient of the regular ones. I haven't looked at or tried any of the 'clinical' ones. I only use Lady Mitchum now. And I like that the gel dries fast and doesn't have those little balls of deodorant that fall out of my shirt! LOL

I've been using Lady Mitchum for the last 5 years, and it quit on me this week when then temps. here soared. I just bought some Degree because that's worked for me in the past, but I think I'll also get some Secret after reading this.

My DH and I both use Speed Stick.DH never smells and he is a hard working, and I think it works well for me, too. I really haven't tried too many other brands over the years.. usually if I get a free sample, but I always go back to Speed Stick.

Ladies, I know that you will probably not believe me, but the Roll On from Avon (any of them) work great. I too had the no longer works for me problem and now since I have been using the roll on from Avon I no longer have any issues. It doesnt hurt that Avon usually sells the roll on for about 99 cents a bottle. I just put it on after I get out of the shower and wait a few minutes before I get dressed for it to dry and no problems.

Right now I'm using Secret but I have to change brands every couple years. Over time they don't seem to work. It's almost as if my body becomes immune to them.

me too! Right now I'm using Secret Clinical as it's pretty darn hot here and I'll stick with it until the fall when it cools off.

Yup. I have had to throw away too many tops because of deodorant marks/stains. Especially the black tops, any other deodorant stains my shirts!!!

I am allergic to most deodorants (and toothpastes for that matter) so I can only use 2 or 3 brands without developing a rash. Thank goodness I live in an area with lots of "natural" food stores and co-ops.

I use Alba Botanica clear enzyme deodorant stick. It's clear and all orgainic with baking soda, green tea and lichen in a lavender scent. It has no paraben, no propylene glycol and no aluminum. It also costs about $5 for 2 oz!

Secret Clinical is one of the best, I don't like the Gel kind it has a weird feel to it.

I now use both clincals, I just go back and forth between them. I used to use normal Dove up until about a year ago or so. It just stopped working. I would smell worse at the end of the day when I put deodorant on than on the days that I left it off!

Yes. I have used the Secret Platinum Clear Gel for years and it works great. I absolutely love some of their scents, too!

i agree with dove, but only in original or powder. none of the other scents they have fight the stink as well.
