Ladies... In case you forgot...

ITA with you and I'm 29 and have been married for 6 years and so far so good!

 Actually, i *do* do most of those things ... Of course, i've only been married 25yrs so who knows how it will turn out. But so far, all that fussing over my man has paid off in a happy, harmonious home where he feels loved and cared for, which makes him want to love and care for me. :confused3

Lucky for me Dh would hate to live a life like that! Although, he probably wouldn't object to the advice to "be a little gay". He's been trying to talk me into that for years :lmao:

I do, too, and we've been together for 20 years.

I am a feminist and all that, but I am still stuck in the 50s when it comes to being a wife and mother.

My dh would take me to a hospital if I started acting this way to see if the aliens could be removed.

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if it was real. I remember reading Teen in the late 80s (when I was too yong to be reading teen really) and reading things like this about going on dates- (I'm paraphrasing since it's been a LOOOONg time since I read this stuff)
Find out his interests and do a little research on them. Boys like it when a girl shares his interests- be it cars or sports. Act interested and ask questions.
It went on to say something about not talking so much about yourself or what you like b/c that can be offputting to guys.

I was at a Catholic wedding ceremony (about 10 to 12 years ago) where the Priest actually made some comments in this direction

OMG I went to a Catholic wedding ceremony a few years ago and it was like that. I seriously was getting mad listening to him go on and on. My DH was getting a kick out of watching me stew. After the ceremony even he said it was too much.

I refused to have "obey" in my vows, so maybe I am just weird like that though. Oh, and DH cooks dinner, cleans the bathroom, prepares DS bath, grocery shops and many other things I can't think of right now...

This sounds like good advice for any interpersonal relations, male or female...much better than the alternative: "don't bother to find out his interests, make no effort to get to know him. Boys like it when you don't share his interests. Act like his interests are not valid, and do not inquire about them."

Don't complain if he's late home for dinner or even if he stays out all night. :rotfl:

Yep, I'd have escalated it waaaaay past "complaining" by 6 am. :lmao:

Thanks for the laugh. I needed it today!!!

Someone should make an updated version!!!

One where the man takes care of everything!!

I have a hard time believing this is real.
Ya think? Anyone ever heard of Housekeeping Monthy? Funny stuff, but come on people, its gotta be a joke.

I don't think it's a joke or a fake. I was born in 1958 and I remember my mom doing all of this. I also remember her telling me when I was first married 26 years ago to greet him at the door with a clean dress on, make up and his drink of choice. :scared1: Right-me who NEVER wears dresses let alone make up. I remember her feeding us young kids (below 5) at 5 PM and in bed at 6PM-she got cleaned up-fresh dress, make up-hair done, martini in hand for my dad. She used to iron the towels and sheets!! Oh and every morning we had a full breakfast-eggs toast or pancakes, oatmeal, juice and milk. EVERY morning. Sometimes we got a real treat and had cold cereal but not very often. Oh and she cooked a hot lunch before we were in school. She cooked dinner every night-we may have eaten out like once in a blue moon.Yes people really lived like that. I do try to make things nice for my dh as he's the sole wage earner right now while I'm dealing with psycho ds. I try to show my appreciation by taking on the household chores and the outside chores so he can relax, but he in turn shows his appreciation for all the things I do. It's even stevens in the house and one will take up when the other is overwhelmed. The article is funny and reminds me how far we've come baby

Not questioning you, but I am thrilled that this is beyond my realm of comprehension. It may as well be written in Japanese.

I have an actual copy of this that belonged to my step-mother, she is 75yo. They gave them out when a bride registered for wedding gifts. I have the copy right here in my office, I know how old it is and who it belonged to, so I know the darned thing is real. I guess Snopes makes mistakes sometimes??

:rotfl2: Hey John, something tells me you didn't show that to Mrs. Charade!

I thought that *was* how you get a man. :rotfl:
