What have you found to be the best foundation? It seems everything I try is too dry and caky. I have very dry skin. I use a moisturizer. But when I put foundation on, it makes my skin look yucky. I want a "dewy", natural look. Any suggestions without having to spend a fortune?

I use Clinique and I used to have very sensitive skin but ever since I started wearing this and I also can wear Lancome I havent had any problems with my skin. Its a little more expensive but if you factor in all the cover girl and maybelline stuff you tried and had to throw away cause it didnt work, it really isnt that expensive. I would suggest going to a makeup counter and getting a makeover so you know exactly what you want without paying for the guessing game.

Clinique is good but bobby brown is the best. Once you use bobby brown you will have a hard time switching. but be warned it is expensive.

MAC is also very very good. I have there powder and love it.

I've been using Lancome's Photogenic Ultra Comfort. Lancome just came out with a new foundation, Renergie Lift - "The innovative Micro-Lift™ technology with Pure Vitamin E immediately makes skin smooth with the appearance that lines are lifted. With this lightweight, moisturizing foundation, you’ll face up to a smooth, luminous complexion. ". I'm not at the stage of my life where I need this formula so I purchased a replacement Photogenic Ultra Comfort - "This ultra-moisturizing formula, with apricot extract, melts away dryness for all day hydration.
A unique Photo-Flex™ Complex re-focuses light, so skin looks its luminous and flawless best. Reinforced with Vitamin C, skin glows with healthy-looking radiance. The Result: Dry skin looks and feels picture perfect in every light."
Lancome is pricey - $30 for foundation but, the bottle lasts me a full year+. I wouldn't buy it if not for my store employee's discount and free bonuses w/purchase.

I like to order my foundation from reflect.com. It is done custom for you. I like a light ,natural smooth foundation and I order the liquid to powder/ creamy compact. This imho is the best stuff out there.

Tinted moisturiser - made by various manufacturers, clogs skin up less than make-up and looks far more natural!

i highly recommend TimeWise by Mary Kay. i use it religiously...the regular TimeWise moisturizer is light on your skin. the one with sunscreen is heavier on your skin...the moisturizer is about $20.

i use the combination of the cleanser, moisturizer, and the powder foundation and my skin is really soft!!

There's a lot of options out there that I haven't tried I guess.:earseek: Looks like I have to go shopping! Oh Darn! Yeah right:rolleyes:

I'm a MK consultant, so I have to vote for Mary Kay as well! ;) I am madly in love with the creme-to-powder foundation. My skin seems to love it- it never looks as good as when I've been using that!

another idea - in you're not already using one, a gentle exfoliant used once or twice a week will help to smooth out your skin and makes the foundation go on smoother. Lancome has also come out with a new skin treatment that is supposed to even out your skin and make foundation go on super-smooth. I haven't tried it yet, so I can't vouch for it, though.

Another Lancome user here. My bottle reads"Adaptive" - it is a balanced formula for combination skin. I used Clinique for years but since I turned 40 like Lancome better. Good luck.:)

Another vote for MAC. Find your closest counter and the most helpful employees/ makeup artists will really help you out. I use the studio fix and I love it. The ladies/gentlemen at the MAC counter will really help you out a lot. But beware, because MAC makeup can be addicting.

Another vote for Clinique although I have been intrigued by the MAC counter at Nordstrom....they look like they have very good products. But Clinique has never done me wrong and I think their products are very good and not TOO expensive.
